Thank you for this heartfelt post, James. Lanny was one of my closest friends. We were like brothers. When Randy passed, I was the first person he called, even before he called his mom. We had just spoken on the phone a few days ago before he flew to New York and he was so full of life and excited for the trip. I haven't been able to find out any details on what's happened but I'm sure those will come out in the coming hours and days.
You may remember from your interview with Lanny, he mentioned me in his story about the backstage "fight" with Hannibal.
Thank you again for taking the time to post such a heartfelt tribute to Lanny. He spoke very highly of you after the interview.
My best to you as we mourn Lanny's passing.
    Jeff

RIP to your friend Lanny. I've been a fan of his since I was maybe 7 years old, and 30+ years later I'm still a big fan. Was just watching him in a rumble the other day actually, what a memorable character in and out of the ring. Loved that voice. All the best to you and anybody who knew him in this tough time. With a poem and a frisbee Lanny Poffo was his name.

I liked how Lanny never acted like it bothered him that Randy was such a Super Star. He always talked as Randy was huge and never tried to take anything away from that; also he admitted that a lot of doors opened because of Randy's success. I had been looking forward to seeing him again at a fanfest somewhere down the road. He's gonna be dearly missed by so very many! I remember seeing him perform live several times at WWF house shows in the 80's, he would read his poem taped to the back of a frisbee, then he'd toss it out to the crowd. He was always super nice to us kids who would wait for the wrestlers to arrive before the show. I was fortunate enough to only live a few blocks away from the arena, so it was easy to head over there with a bunch of friends. We knew which area in the back loading docks of the arena where they would enter. Most wrestlers would be in a hurry to get inside, but Lanny would always take his time and sign autographs. That meant alot to us, he was such a nice guy. I'm sad to see that he has passed on, now he lives in our memories.

I don’t comment on these videos very much, but wanted to say that I very much appreciate your honesty and integrity in everything you do on your channel, including this very heartfelt tribute.

I love to watch his interviews. He just seem like he had such a kind soul, and I met him at an autograph signing years ago just seem like such a great guy and chokes me up. Just think about it. Rest in peace brother.

I recall him saying something along the lines of "wanting to live until 100" on René's podcast. So sad to see him go as he always came across as well-spoken, friendly and intelligent. R.I.P.

I did a show with Lanny back in 1994. Great guy. Loved his fans, very humble, really intelligent. Would do anything for his fellow man and the business he loved.
