    Skip to 5:00 to see in action. No need to watch an “unboxing”.

    I am Not able to get any pressure in sprayer. Worked well last year. Have it two years, what could be the problem? Where can I get parts?

      Ron Garguilo I would first start with cleaning everything out well. Sometimes it can get clogged up and you pump and nothing comes out. Give it a thorough rinse. Also you can take the wand apart and clean out the handle and trigger. Then when you reassemble everything make sure you tighten everything. I was losing pressure when the top part of the plunger was loose so check that as well. And when you reassemble put a bit of Vaseline on all of the orings and screw it all back together hand tight. Then try again and see if it’s any better. I might see if I can do a video on cleaning and reassembly some time that’s a good idea for a future video. Anyway hope that helps. I’m not sure I’d harbor freight sells replacement parts directly but you might be able to find some generic orings and plastic thread adapters and such from amazon but I haven’t looked. Let me know if that works if you have any luck!

    U r suppose to pump it. Hence the pump lever.

      Yes; however I have a few other pump sprayers that hold pressure for much longer. My higher quality Smith sprayer will usually take about 10-15 pumps and will hold pressure for about a minute before the pressure drops and then needs to be pumped up again. So the Harbor Freight sprayer just requires a lot more pumping to keep the pressure up than other models I've used in the past. Thanks for commenting!

    Thanks for the review and video. I was looking to get one of those also for that sale. Did they let you combine 20% off coupon in the flyer?

    • @DIYDad1

      I bought a couple other things along with it at the time and the local branch that I went to didn't let me combine coupons so they applied it to another item. Of course YMMV depending on the store you go to but it doesn't hurt to try! I never go in that store without a coupon! HF has these on sale with a separate coupon pretty regularly, I think something like $19.95 ish. Thanks for watching!

      DIY Dad. Don't tell me you paid $32.99 for this. Did you use the $19.99 coupon?

    I cannot for the life of me figure out how to put the straps together. Any info on that?

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was there a set of instructions in the box? It might have been in there. Otherwise, hard to describe here but I’ll try. The straps attach to some little black plastic clips that connect on the underside of the sprayer on the sides. You’ll see the black base on the bottom, there’s some hooks on the bottom of that black plastic base that the straps hook onto (you should see some black plastic clips on the bottom of the straps). The top of the straps thread through the holes molded into the plastic just under the top handle. You should see some slots there under the handle and that’s where the top threads through. Hope that helps!

    What’s the distance on this sprayer? If your using the single nozzle

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say maybe 15 or 20 feet? Enough to spray pesticides up into the eves on a second story house at least!

    Trying to figure out.. you say, pump a few times after 30 feet. Can I walk and just continually pump while I’m spraying? Bottom line, I need to keep a constant pressure! Thanks!!

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah at least with the harbor freight sprayer it doesn’t hold pressure for very long while some other brands might go longer before you need to pump again. Just need to walk around and test it. Watch the spray pattern, listen to the hissing of the spraying and if it starts to drop in pressure you can hear it and see it. If you pump constantly your arm will get tired pretty quickly lol so I just walk for maybe 5-10 seconds, give it 3 or 4 pumps, walk some more, give it a few more pumps. If you pump too much you can tell because it gets harder to pump and it will spray very high pressure. The idea is just to keep it consistent that’s all. Hope that helps explain it! Thanks for watching! Got some more sprayer videos coming up this spring!

      Heck I have the expensive Chapin and have to continually pump the handle. HF looks like a deal to me.

    How many SQ feet can it spray on one tank?

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      smolti if you keep with the normal calibration of most herbicide labels of 1 gallon per 1,000 sq ft I can usually spray 4,000 sq ft per tank full. I did a different video on how to calibrate a spreader which I’ll link for you as well. The short answer: if you walk twice as fast you can cover 2,000 sq ft with 1 gallon of mix instead of the normal 1,000 but you have to be extra careful with your mixing so you get the ratios right for a double dilution and you don’t over apply. Keeping to 1 gallon per 1,000 sq ft just keeps the math simpler.

      @@DIYDad1 thanks, I ended up using the double sprayer and marking off 1000 sq ft. It took about 2.5 gallons to cover. Hopefully I got the ratios correct for the prodiamine!

    • @DIYDad1
      @DIYDad1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      smolti awesome! Yeah, in the end it doesn’t matter how much actual water you include in your thousand square feet just as long as the amount of actual product you are spraying that’s mixed into the water is the correct amount. The water is just a “carrier” so it’s much easier to spray 2.5 gallons than to spray a half an ounce of that makes sense 😄

    I think you pump as you walk maybe 1 or 2 pumps every few steps might be easier once you gt a rhythm going

      vato loco hahaha! Yeah I feel like as long as you don’t bathe in the stuff you should be ok 🤣. That’s a pretty good run for a backpack sprayer. They never last forever. Those seals wear out over time. I’m on year 2 now with the harbor freight sprayer. I’ve been spraying liquid humic, pre emergent, all sorts of stuff. Not bad for $20 lol.

      El Okim it’s definitely not quality like a Solo or Chapin sprayer, no comparison. but for $20 I definitely got a lot of use out of it. Still works and I probably put 100+ gallons through it since March. I figured if it breaks next year I’ll just swap it for another one or upgrade to a battery powered sprayer when the time comes. These are good if you’re on a tight budget. Thanks for commenting!

    it's junk! don't waste your money... a bargain isn't a bargain if it's a p.o.s. spend a little more and get a better one.

      Thanks for the feedback. While I agree it’s not built well enough to serve every day in a landscape business, it has held up quite well for the third season now. It’s not broken so that’s a plus lol. Build quality isn’t great, the straps come loose a lot. But not a big deal really. I just thread it back on. It’s a good “starter” sprayer to get you going I’d you’re on a budget but I would definitely agree to upgrade when you can. I just got a Petra battery powered sprayer. Check out my recent videos where I’m using it. The thing is a tank!
