    Thanks so much for this video! I have a question. If I apply for a credit card and get approved but then decide I don't want it do I need to do anything to make sure the credit company knows I am no longer interested?

    Let's talk about Credit or Debit Cards under 18

    • @dakuten7883
      @dakuten7883 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      After a quick google search (I know, how professional), in regards to minors or in other words the "Under 18"s:
      Debit cards-
      "Some institutions don't permit minors to have debit cards under their own name until they are at least 16, but others offer them to children who are 13 or even younger."
      Credit cards-
      "Although you can't apply for a credit card in your name while you're under 18, you can consider the following options: Request to be an additional cardholder on your parents' credit card. If you're at least 16 years of age, your parents may add you as a supplementary cardholder to their credit card account.
      "

    So what happens when you’re no longer a student? Do you have to close that line of credit potentially hurting your score?

    • @cordwoodenties5505
      @cordwoodenties5505 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      What I understood from the video is that you can continue to use the card even if you are no longer a student. Don’t quote me on that though.

      This is what the website says:
      What happens to my Discover it® student cash back card when I graduate from school?
      After you graduate from college, your student credit card will become a standard credit card. You’ll keep the same cash back program and card design. And you may qualify for a credit line increase to handle expenses more easily after school. Be sure to provide Discover with your current income after graduation.

    • @FiveMinuteFinance
      @FiveMinuteFinance  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, the $200 is yours to keep after spending $500. You can have it deposited into your bank account if you want.
