What a way to start a morning. Sipping my coffee and listening to that air-cooled flat 6 song while Mr Tedward provides the insightful narration. Thank you so much!
@ You know that I am not belittling the car right? I'm saying its not a 964 and its not a 930. It is referred to as just 911. It's very clear that the statement is regarding chassis codes. I'm shocked that you'd say "some people are never happy with what they have." I bought this car as a tribute to my best friend who died. It means a GREAT deal to me and I will never sell it. Please think before you comment.
Too funny! That is my town you are driving through. I have a 2009 997.2 base Carrera. Let me know next time you are in town. You can take it for a drive!
Watching this in my car so I can enjoy the benefit of hearing it through my stereo, closest thing to driving one without actually driving one... Damnit, now I need a 911 😂
Best cars for exploring back country roads. Makes sense why they are do desirable. Just very connected with the road. You can feel every bump and imperfection and also smell everything outside because of the lack of a cabin filter. I have the same Momo on mine, was the first project I did when I got mine.
I also have a 3.2 and love driving it. Your town is soooooo beautiful with all the nice houses, trees and no fences. But as always there is a slow Japanese car holding up the car enthusiast ;-)
Yessir. It’s dry sump so there’s a big reservoir. There’s also an oil cooler up front so when the thermostat ticks over it sends oil to the front of the car and back
Such a lovely car!! I kick myself daily for not grabbing one when they were cheap.... just heart breaking. These cars just evoke so much emotion to me...I truly love them in every way. The sound, the mechanical nature, It’s presence on the road... and they have gone nuts in value.
I really wish I had bought this sooner. In 2011 I remember turning down an aircooler for only 15 grand! Chances are that was a heap of trash, but it sounds like a classic "wish I bought" story haha
Tedward I’ve had at least a half dozen great opportunities to buy some really nice aircooled 911’s over the years, particularly in the early to mid-2000’s. In 2005 I passed on a nearly perfect 964 with a really well done RS cosmetic conversion for $14k!!!! I still sometimes awake in a cold sweat in the middle of the night with the nightmare of not buying that car! My next biggest faux pa was a gorgeous white, manual 993 in 2006, it was on consignment in the showroom of my local Subaru dealer with 25k mikes or so...an S model (non-turbo) if my memory is correct, for about $27k.... instead I payed close to $40k for a brand new STi.... I LOVED that STi.... but I regret not buying that Porsche, a regret I’ll carry to my death. I kept thinking a better one would come along, a better deal, a better example.... and now, even a crap example with 100k miles has been priced right out of rational consideration. Sad. I mean a well sorted aircooled 911 is my dream car(since I was a little kid in the 1970’s), certainly attainable...but after having spent years seeing them so undervalued, I just cannot bring myself to pay what people are asking now.
What a fantastic video. Thank you. It reminds me so much of when my friend had a left-hand drive 3.2 here in the UK, what was great was everyone though I was driving!
Beautiful car. Love my 993 c4s!! First 4wd car and turns likes it on rails. Missed buying a C2S by a few days. It isn't fast by today's standards, but that is the fun part. As you stated you get to wind out a couple gears without going triple digit speeds. I waiting too long and had to pay the air cooled premium, but still happy I did. The sound (got Fister III exhaust), the smell, and the driving experience is so much fun. Plan to add a LWF next. I want to add a 964, but prices now are insane. They were around 40k when I was looking before purchasing the 993. I had to have the WB which is amazing in person. I drove it home and rebuilt the whole car in about 2 months in my garage. Spent like 7k in parts/tools and now everything is new. Replaced parts that were still fine (kept them in a box), but wanted a fresh baseline to start my ownership. Car has been great now going on 2yrs.
Loved watching the video, as it reminds me of when I take my 78 911 SC out for a drive once in awhile. Mine is 100% stock and not a rattle or a squeak to be heard. When I take someone for a ride, they are amazed how well it rides, and how solid it is. Of coarse mine had the 915 gearbox, so patience is a virtue! I don't drive it much, but I did drive it to Petit Le Man from Columbia SC on the back roads. I had it in the Porschepltaz with 200 other Porsches. Took it out on the parade lap on the road Atlanta race track and not sure where the pace car went, but I got it up 100 mph , such a blast!!! Great cars! Love mine to death!
If this video was an hour long, I would have watched it from the first to the last second. Beautiful car! Love the all black look and the fuchs. Take care ✌️

I would buy an old 911 just for that door noise 0:47
I just had the passenger door adjusted and now it sounds even better than the driver door
Closing it though, mmm
That is a most wonderful sound !! And when you tell non car folks about it , they look at you like , huh 😄😄😄😄

This is my 3rd time watching this. A G body 911 is my dream car and this is as close as it gets, thank you.
Thanks! I’ll have a lot of free time in isolation this spring so I’ll be making new videos

😂. Just did this.
I'm being humble: I see a 911, I hear a stunning flat 6, I hear a great cold start and I have seen an ever better video and POV driving. Excellent.
I love everything about this

What's the purpose of the occasional yellow light flashing on the tach instrument?
It’s an upshift light. Just an arrow pointing up when it thinks the Revs are high enough for the next gear for fuel efficiency

If you plug into it with binaural mics then it will just record appropriately. So you'll need to buy external mics in addition to the h2n

Why are the dials sidways?? is that a factory thing or did you just put the dash in wrong xD
