I was 18-19yo bowling in my 1st PBA regional. I saved for the entry fee and wrote a note with my form for someone to call me to make sure they got it. Of all people Mr. Dick Weber called me. Couldn't believe it

Same here, I miss seeing Duke, Monacelli, Williams, and Voss dominate every event through the mid 2000's.

i think a lot of it has to do with the personalities and also relatability. i've always felt these guys and the guys before them were someone u could picture yourself bowling next to in your league.
