I was a nuke on old S5W boomers. We had the diesel, an 81/8 6 cylinder. Missed running it when I went to a fast attack.

The sowiets made copy of this engine and called it D100, its, one of the most famous sowiet ebgines, still used in railway locomotives

Isn’t this the same kind of engine used in the Fairbanks-Morse H-24-66 “Train Master” locomotives?

I dont know, i filmed this engine on a tug boat. I saw videos of this engine on submarines and used as power generator.

Yup, it is. Same basic engine, probably a few details different.

Ah yes, 24 pistons in a 12 cylinder OP engine. Really takes the extremely high thermal efficiency of an OP into account doesn't it? Plus it runs very smooth and somewhat quiet ironically for a huge diesel engine.

Feels weird seeing digital gauges on an engine design that is like 100 years old.

Ha!, Dynalco digital tacks are from the mid 80's, so they are nearly 40 years old now. I used to work for a company that serviced Dynalco equipment in Australia. Time marches on.

Fairbanks-morse engines were the first; they were reverse-engineered and replicated by USSR. Sorry, my knowledge of Russian stops at google translate...
