I miss David Wright! I was a huge fan of him and Jose Reyes together growing up!

Great Mets baseball in the David Wright era. I miss the Captain, solid fundamentals and matured to an Amazing Met. Great memories watching and I was at Citi for his last game. I'll start tearing up thinking about it. You won't be able to find a better example for a blend of clutch talent and heart. Love this guy, great to see he's doing well and lending his leadership and knowledge down at Port St. Lucie, thanks for sharing.

What a shame that such a wonderful player and person had a probable Hall of Fame career curtailed and shortened by injuries. I'm sure that many Mets fans and baseball fans in general would agree with this sentiment. While this has happened to many athletes throughout sports, his case seemed especially unfair, given the caliber of the person he is. A close second in NY sports history would be Don Mattingly, who also had a probable Hall of Fame career curtailed and shortened by injuries, namely a chronic bad back condition, which was also David Wright's situation.

Mets need someone to step up as a leader in the mold of Wright
To be fair it would be hard for Wright to remember his stats and milestones when he never hyped himself or show anyone up in a game, it was mostly put your head down and go about your business of trying to win regardless of the opponent

Mike Piazza and David Wright are the Players that made me want to be a New York METS Fan. Unfortunately Brandon Nimmo is the current METS Player that discourages me as a METS Fan because He Fired His Agent(s) and Hired Scott Boras. I totally understand it was a Business Decision and it literally Paid-Off but the Disloyalty towards the Agent(s) that represented him during his Long Journey thru to Minors and the first Five years in a MLB just shows his Not the Righteous Person he had Claimed to be.

Offensively, yes. Defensively, Rolen has him beat.
