How come Dard e disco isn't considered as one of the item songs? It was probably the first time the main male lead of the film did an item song if I remember correctly. Srk is awesome in it.

They didn't cover the right songs properly. Some were not even item numbers. Usually the item number has a lady who's not in the rest of the movie. Like it's not the heroine.
It's not necessary that the item numbers can't have the leading actress in a movie... Item numbers are not necessarily cameos... They are mainly picturised as to attract male gaze...
@@elioo613 nope...the original comment is more correct factually.. item numbers are done by heroines who r just come for that one song.. sometimes they might have some extended cameo like scene or two.. also sometimes a famous heroine or a second heroine who is mainly cast to provide glamour quotient to the movie will perform in item numbers

Maybe you didn't see..They added Ek To Kam Zindagani original version. Dilbar and Manike are item songs but their original versions were not so can't add them. Only Saki Saki was missing. Others aren't remakes either.

You guys know that making original song with autotune singers can't bring views and can't attract listeners. Males don't think of other males as 'items'. Hence only girls dancing are called as items and those songs only are item songs. 😀
difference between item songs and normal songs is that the actor/actress doing the song is usually not present in the movie or is playing only a minor role. Most male songs like dard-e-disco are done by the main hero. so it not an item song.
I find the word "item" to be weird. Also, gay men exist.
Watching these evolution videos makes me realise how old I am 😂 I remember listening to most of these songs on the radio, my grandparents would complain abt how dirty those songs were, I'm so happy they didn't listen to the songs after baby doll 😂 and even trying to watch them on TV was a herculean task one hand on the remote and one eye on the door and ears towards the gate.... The minute the gate opens or someone comes near the door, immediately change the channel....just 90s kids things

Item song is such a derogatory/abusive/gender specific slur/ stigmatised term that is used for women who are dancing with body revealing clothes. When a male actor is introduced his song is called an intro song, hero song/ title song where he is glorified...
