To me Far Cry 2 was the most unforgiving. The landscape was harsh and you never felt overpowered. You could almost feel the desperation in the air. The story goes well with it too.
Far cry 2 have the best physics, it has a more realistic game detail and a better AI. For me graphics doesn't matter far cry 2 will always be the best. Every other far cry looks cheap games when you play them. But when you play far cry 2 you realize how much work they did. Now ubisoft only care about money and not about their game quality.

It could be that your mind is telling you that if that was your first game in the franchise or it could be because of the much brighter and more cartoony art style of it
Far cry 5 in my opinion is just such a weak entry in there series Like it’s a good game overall and can be fun for the most part but overall it as a very generic and boring map that’s not that interesting to explore The characters are laughably bad because they all just die The Fov is bad The mechanics like fire,takedowns and levelling as been scaled way back And the story and overall atmosphere is not as immersive as the other 3 entries
