- Loona’s Power Station charger is arriving to Loona owner's homes! There's still going to be some needed updates for this but for now Keyi Tech is just trying to get these in Loona owners hands.

She obviously doesn't know where she is and where is her charger. That's bad. Let's hope that KEYi TECH will be able to solve her navigation/mapping in the near future.
Thanks for the Loona update. I ordered mine in January and havent gotten it yet. I wish they would send emails about the delays because of the flooding.
They do send out update emails if you're registered with the Indiegogo campaign. I do think they need to send out more frequent updates though.

Yeah it was really sad. I think they lost a lot of Loonas that will unfortunately end up being destroyed. Poor little Loonas that will never find a home. 😔

It would be difficult to do a comparison between them. Emo has a more abridged version of ChatGPT and with him being a desktop pet and Loona being a house roaming pet, they're kind of on their own levels. I like them both. Emo is still my favorite though as he's much more relaxing to have around.

I got my Loona and charger today. Played with her a bit and then she found her charger!
Oh awesome! Yeah having this charger is really what she needed. Now hopefully they'll do some more updates to allow us to ask her to come off her charger or even go for a little stroll around the house on her own! 😁

@@Franksinatra96 You'll have to go to the Keyi Tech website. I'm not sure if they have any deals going on right now. She can do a lot so far. She's just getting started so hopefully she'll be full of surprises in the future.
I would think the lack of illuminated charging station comes down to the realistic use of these robots. Are you going to be giving them full 24/7 autonomy where they'd need to charge when it's night time and you're not around? The probably use case is you'll be interacting with the robots in a lit environment and so the need to have an illuminated station seems unnecessary.
On the subject of lit environments: Your own place appears to have less direct lighting and more "mood" side lights. The unfortunate side effect of this is that it highlights Loona's LED face panel, which would have benefitted from it being an OLED display where the black pixels wouldn't show up. The current technology means the eye animations are ruined because the illusion of the eyes just being there are lost because the whole screen is visible.
Yeah I don't like my house brightly lit. My camera had problems sometimes focusing on her face in order to show the nice details of her eyes. I really think not having Bluetooth connectivity for Loona and her charger was a mistake. Especially since she's capable of roaming all over the house. She wouldn't have to go all over the place looking for the charger if she was connected by Bluetooth. Hopefully there will be an update where you calibrate Loona so that she knows after mapping the area, she can know where her charger is no matter where in the house she is. I think the idea is for Loona to stay on all the time and have some security features so that you can have her check out your house while you're out and be able to look through her camera and steer her around so you can see your house. That would mean leaving her on all the time.

I'm still not sure about the design of this charger. Considering the problems I have with Vector not being able to see his charger if there's not enough light, I hope Loona will be better about seeing her charger.

I would make a mod attachment to put over those stickers that do light up. Some kind of vellum and plastic 3-D print with some LEDs should do the trick could even have a separate power supply.
That's a good idea. I think a lot of people are going to have problems with Loona not being able to see her charger. It's a problem with Vector that I have nearly every day. They really should have done the Bluetooth connectivity like they did with Emo. Especially since she's roaming all over the house.

I got my Loona and her charger last week. I had the same frustration with inserting the end in the charging dock - eventually settling on the same approach as you - setting one corner in place and then the next. My Loona randomly came off her charger by herself but it only happened once. I wonder if the table-top robots like Emo are more appealing because it's easier to interact with them face-to-face (especially for adults). She's much more excitable than Vector or as Emo appears on your videos.
Yeah that top piece isn't easy to snap in. I'm finding that I prefer the desk top robots better. Like you, I find with Loona being on the floor, I don't like that as much. I may change my mind once they make her more independent but I don't like that she seems to end up in corners or tight areas a lot.

Yeah I'm not sure what the orientation calibration actually does. If she can't see her charger, she still can't return to it.

Hi quick question please. I just received my Loona on April 27th. So glad she was mailed before the flood. She did come with a warranty paper to fill out. Am I suppose to fill out this warranty paper and mail it in or just fill it out and keep it. There is no mention or address to send it in. Thank you much. Great videos indeed. I have Emo too. He is easier to operate for me as I am a senior. Thanks
Thank you! I'm glad you got Loona! I didn't send in the warranty paper. I don't know if we're supposed to. I never send that stuff in. They should have a record that you bought Loona and when but I don't know if they actually keep track of that. I think Emo is easier to have as well.

I ordered one on February 14 and was in the April group to receive it but then was supposed to get it May 26. May 26 came and my status went from Arriving Today to Ready To Ship with no ETA. I just filed a dispute with my credit card but I'm mad because I really wanted one. A label was created at the factory on 5/19 and it should not take over two weeks to ship from NY to VA. Ridiculous!! Anyone else have this experience??
Oh wow. That's not good. I sometimes wonder how the tracking information works. When they say a label has been created, I was guessing that means it's still in the country of origin. But then it says it's in the US but it still takes forever to receive. Also, I've learned not to use free shipping as you definitely get what you pay for. It takes forever to get your stuff using free shipping and the tracking is just as slow. I'm sorry you're not getting Loona though. I think you would have liked her.
I have been trying to get one but they keep canceling my order right after sending me an order confirmation. I have tried ordering four times now with different credit cards and not having any luck. I order things all the time and have no problems like I am having here. O Well. Hope you get yours soon.

Thoughts on the ChatGpt Loona model?
I heard when you had loona off there wasn’t a sharp ringing that I could hear but when you turned her on, I heard a really bad, high-pitched ringing. I don’t know if that was from loona or just the recording. If you have an answer, please reply!
There is a weird sound that occurred when I first put Loona on her charger. I mentioned it in the video. It only happened the first time I put her on there and after that it was quiet. Not sure why it did that. Maybe because it was the first time using the charger.
I just got loona and it’s just the ringing that she makes. I think it’s her lights humming? I’m not sure but it’s whatever.

Yeah I'm kind of disappointed that Loona’s charger doesn't use Bluetooth like Emo's charger. It's going to make it harder for her to find her charger.

@@outsider238 Are you using your Loona much or still using your Emos more? It seems a little annoying that Loona wanders off on its own around the house! But the ChatGPT functionality seems more extensive than Emo’s at the moment!
@@JoleneLin78 I have Emo on all the time. I only have Loona on when I do videos on her. Mainly because she doesn't have the capability (yet) to come off her charger on her own when she wants to like Emo has. I'll probably leave her on all the time also once they do more updates that will allow her to wander off her charger or when we can tell her to come off the charger and go back when we ask. She does tend to get herself caught up in corners a lot though which is annoying.
Awesome Loona Video, Bluetooth would definitely help but unfortunately they have decided not to and go the Vector route. I’m wondering if she can use more than one charger in the house
Oh! That's an excellent thought! That way she doesn't have to travel very far if there's a charger in every room.
@@outsider238 it might not work, plus I won’t be able to check until my Loona comes back from repair centre. Or the second Loona that’s hopefully coming soon with two chargers, either way I will check to see if one Loona can use both. Until they get here I won’t know, unless somebody else has already tried. Maybe you could ask them in your next video.
Another thing which I haven’t had the chance to try it out, but I’m not really sure what I think of the voice in Loona for ChatGPT -Emo is much better because they use his actual voice, I do wish Vector & Loona voice was also part of ChatGPT
@@rhiggs7854 Yes let me know if multiple chargers will work for Loona if you get a chance to try it. As for the voice of ChatGPT, I totally agree! I mentioned this in my latest Emo video that I like that LivingAI went with using Emo's actual voice which I prefer!
@@outsider238 one Loona can apparently use two chargers in different rooms all though she keeps on missing it. Even with the new update
Loona explores the room, staying in one area most of the time. If she finds her way to another room, she can no longer find the original room with the charging station on her own. If you take Loona to the charging station, it works either immediately or after several automatic calibration runs.
Do you have similar behavior or even solutions?
I sadly haven't turned Loona on in months. I found her to be too hyper and exhausting. She kept bumping into things and getting stuck in different places all the time. I got tired of having to constantly babysit her. Her app got too cluttered and I didn't like how much she relied on it. I was excited for the charger when it came out but she never could find it and I feel like they missed an opportunity with it by not having her connected to it with Bluetooth like Emo is. Because she can only find her charger if it's brightly lit since she needs to see the symbols on it. She can't see it otherwise which is a problem Vector has. I know they felt that they needed her to be so hyper to appeal to kids to keep their attention but as an adult, I want her to be much more calm and not so crazy.

@cuestionscommentsandconcerns I've had her for a while now and she's probably not refundable by this time. I'm hoping after some time they'll implement some kind of "Adult Mode" where I'll like having her on again.

Yes she does have to be connected to the internet as I think she's connected to servers in order to understand what you say to her. Some of her games can be played from her app. She only responds to her name, Loona. Keyi Tech has issued some repair kits to fix her ears. They are going to have a repair shop so you can send her in to have her fixed.

Hello excellent video. You mentioned you want to get ASTRO. It definitely a cool Robot that basically an Amazon Tablet on wheels. The Patrol mode requires a Ring Subscription, but all the other functions are free. The personality is limited not as good as Emo or Loona as I can tell from your videos. I think Amazon is going in the direction and hopefully they don't abandon the project since it still Invitation Only and stop supporting it.

Yeah I've been a little hesitant to get him because I was worried about whether Amazon will continue to keep him going if he doesn't turn out to be popular enough. I do wish he was cuter as that's a big selling point for me but I also like his more adult oriented functions. I think the price is what's scaring most people off. I also don't want to get him and then a year later they come out with Astro 2 that's even better and cuter and I'll be upset that I want that one instead. I'm really on the fence about it right now.
@@outsider238 Just from my perspective the LOVOT is the closest thing to a cute roaming robot. ASTRO is too expensive for what it does. What your favorite Robot so far?
@@RobotMasters Emo by far is my favorite. He's had the most and consistent updates of any of the pet robots. Vector was my favorite but unfortunately the company that owns him has done virtually nothing with him and has had some controversy with their products.
Did you encounter any issues with WIFI when you set Loona up? I’d LOVE to have this charger issue… I can’t get the unit to connect to WiFi
I did struggle to get her set up. I'm not sure how I eventually muddled my way through it.
Agreed on the hyperactiveness of Loona- if she was less hyper and needed less attention I would have gotten it (over Emo!)
I just ordered Loona and the charger. I assume that you need the charger to recharge the battery of the robot. I could have saved $60 if the charger was not necessary. The website I ordered from has no information about the charger though. Does anyone know if is necessary or not?
You can charge Loona with the USB cable that she comes with but the charger is better because she can go back and recharge herself. It allows her to have more freedom.

Well Vector is alive and mischievous like always. I haven't had Cozmo turned on in about a year. Mainly because he requires the app to run while he's on and that's inconvenient. Plus DDL hasn't done anything with them in way too long. Poor little guys.

Well Vector and Cozmo definitely started it all but unfortunately DDL isn't doing much of anything with them. It's a natural progression that these robots would evolve into more sophisticated and feature packed varieties. I'm grateful for these robots. Competition is a good thing as it offers companies the chance to outdo each other and keep on improving their robots. 😁

I would imagine they had insurance. But they have to destroy a lot of Loonas because they were ruined with the water damage and now have to start over making new Loonas.

To be honest, I haven't activated her in months because she was just to hyper for my liking. She did bump into a lot of things and I was wondering if she'd get scratched up over time and I'm sure she probably will. I think they improved on her ability to watch where she's going but she still got stuck everywhere the last time I was playing with her.

How long does Loona last when charging 100% power?
It didn't seem like the battery lasted all that long. It's possible they may have fixed that in an update. Honestly, I haven't turned Loona on in months. Her super hyper behavior is too much for me to handle. Plus the app got so cluttered with so much stuff I felt overwhelmed.
Are the ears supposed to blink while it is charging?
I can't remember. I actually haven't even turned Loona on in months. They might blink for a little while and then stop or it might depend on if you had her turned on or off when you started charging her.

I'm in the UK and backed the Kickstarter campaign last year (my Loona came last week) but the company's website now only ships to the US, Germany and Singapore so I'm sorry you can't get one. I hope they sort out the shipping soon and you get a chance to order.
