  • Produced from 1998 to 2014, each video in The Studio’s Master Class Series presents a portrait of an artist and teaches a glassworking technique. Until now, these 30-minute videos have only been available on DVD.
Rudy Gritsch, an Austrian artist and instructor, takes viewers through many of his kiln-forming processes. This video follows Gritsch as he takes his work from the initial phases of design through the detailed set-ups, firings, and finishing processes, to completed works of art.
He demonstrates how he builds elements using multiple glass layers that he has created, and shares his thoughts behind his work and his teaching. Gritsch takes the viewer on a tour of kiln-worked objects in the Museum’s collection.

He has had a long working relationship with bullseye glass company as I understand it.

At 14:15 he describes the display as "Islamic work" made 900 BC. Islam didn't exist until the 7th century CE, 1,500 years later.

This is not a class and he is not a master. He shows very elementary techniques. His luck is to have access to expensive tools most glass workers do not have.
