that "extra" grip will be the standard dipped version only they cannot dip the smart grip, as the plastic would gum up the works. they are injection moulded grips that are fitted later. as for live work. you cannot turn batteries off. and sometimes you have to have a system live to find the problem
I wish the bottom grips on the cobras went further up on the handle. Personally. Even on the small cobras, you gotta admit there’s hardly any grip even on the bottom part of handles
Those Raptor 87 41 250 are great for getting off rounded or chewed nuts or bolts. The beak makes then better than using standard water pliers

it's vinyl dipped for me, I don't work on any live 1000v gear

As for the live work, voltage drops tell a lot more accurate story than continuity
Have you seen or used the Milwaukee VDE pliers? The titanium finished ones, wondering how they compared to the knipex
