This movie is an absolute masterpiece and has achieved cult status now. Rockstar and Barfi, both the movies depict Ranbir's great acting range. He just lived this song sung by the legend Mohit Chauhan and composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman. When Mohit Chauhan got the award for best playback singer, he thanked Ranbir for living this song on screen. The song is basically about RIGHTS, HUMAN RIGHTS. The movie is *EXTREMELY POWERFUL AND EMOTIONAL* and you can't help but cry at the end of this movie

Just to provide a little bit of context (without spoiling the film) -- When Ranbir's troubled, obsessive character trespasses into his love interest's property without consent, just to bid goodbye to her, she calls the cops on him. He conceives this song in jail and tours after being released, the song itself speaking of one question: "WHY BORDERS EVERYWHERE?" -- wanting to be free from shackles of society, simply put.

Politics aside in the song, this is a great movie. Ranbir Kapoor should have got National Award and a lot of other awards for this role. Mohit Chauhan is a great artist whom should be used in Bollywood a lot often than they do now.
