No matter how many times I watch this video, I always start crying my eyes out. Grace’s beautiful and unique voice and her song with such a good message paired with everything and ESPECIALLY Lin’s “Love is Love” speech? Instant tears. The first chord strum of her uke in the beginning already makes me start crying because I know what song it is right away and paired with the “Free Hugs” peaceful protester makes me so emotional.

Grace Vanderwaal is that good
Grace's voice is exactly what this video needed. She kind of represents something that seems to be lost in this day and age......innocence. With all the negativity you see on the news and the internet, she puts you in that place where you remember things like playing in your back yard as a kid. And I'm a guy in my 30s who wouldn't say that this is necessarily their type of music, but she has a way of naturally capturing emotions with her words and voice. She's definitely the breath of fresh air that this crazy world needs right now.
rhino3784 Not just innocence. To me she also represents hope. Hope that no matter what, we can and will be happy. She has this infectious and enriching joy that fills all around her. I think that's why so many were taken by her. She takes us away, a few mins at a time, from the horrible negativity that we often feel surrounded by.
It represents how sheltered and innocent some of us still are since we're only seeing bad stuff happen to developed countries on the news and not spreading enough awareness for the dozens of others that experience the same thing at a higher rate.

I absolutely love what they did with the search bar. It makes you focus on what’s in the box as things we’ve searched. The music makes me tear up, the attention to detail with the mic in the search bar when it drops after Obama does it and how it’s colored Purple for Prince. So much to love about this video. Truly the best one yet. I think it truly encapsulates a lot.

2021's was good. But this one still hits much harder for me, even after everything the world has faced in the last two years. I don't know, 2016 marked a change, and I think this video captures both the fear and the courage to hope. Every year since 2016 I've come back to this one after watching the most recent Year In Search and it's still the best. It hits so hard with the most moments, and the song carries it perfectly. Maybe it's just the mixed, melancholic nostalgia for me personally, but this video hits like none of the others since so far and I love it very much.

This had been a bad year for everyone, I hope the world gets better in 2017
It was great for me. Finally there were big political stops to the growth of tyranny under the pretext of social justice or being progressive. The year were England realized to remain a free sovereign nation it would have to sever connections with an increasingly malevolent EU. This year a man was elected who will oppose globalism and repair relations with a nation that was on the brink of declaring war due to the proxy wars started by past administrations. This year we recognized that the people tasked with being informed on politics and current events finally awoke to the fact that that does not constitute swallowing the same mainstream dribble. This year we see hope that the path the west has been on for the past several decades will only lead to ruin. This year the people, the real people who are the blue collar workers and small business owners said enough. This year was a great year, and we're going to win so much, we'll get tired of it.
