I dunno where ya get the courage to talk about stuff like that. Hats off to ya james. Not only are ya showing theres a way back from that kinda life but also showing what addiction and crime does to the person and families. Fair play to both of ye boys. I wouldn't change a thing with the podcast, keep doing what ur doing.

Another great episode as you highlight the rights of passage and rituals of your youth and the paradox of living a fuller life in prison. Well done

You both are amazing. It's so important to hear the other side of the story, rather than just hearing the stigma and judgement of drug misuse. Everybody has a story of why they became who they were, no one has the right to judge anybody. You're going to help so many people! I really hope young kids struggling watch these podcasts and it gives them hope and inspiration for their futures. ❤

James I have seen the destruction of drink and drugs and also the massive life change the loss of a parent has on a young person coming into the transition from primary to secondary. I come from the countryside and drugs are everywhere and the damage not alone to the user but to the family is immeasurable. We need education and understanding of helping young people who have to deal with crisis or an event that turns their world upside down. There is stigma attached to addiction, mental health and suicide and the value of silence needs to be lifted and its people like you and Timmy and others coming forward to tell yere stories will give others hope as without hope we have nothing to cling to. Lack of easy accessible services is shocking in Ireland. I have an interesting story about that and how difficult it is to integrate addiction services into communities and I'm talking about rural areas too. Keep up the good work.

This really struck a chord with me. My son died last month from alcohol and prescription drug abuse.
Ireland is in deep denial about its class system

@@thetwonorriespodcast I wish I was aware of your podcast before he died. I could never understand what he was going through. He's left 3 young sons and I'm terrified for their future. Listening has giving me a little bit of peace of mind.
I'm not in Ireland and I couldn't come home to bury him because of COVID.
This young fella reminds me so much of my son. I hope he continues on his road to recovery.
Ye are doing a great thing here lads. Keep it going.
Edit: sorry I'm referring to #33 the lad Cian.

I met you through the program with Caitriona and it was wonderful guys !! Do you know that your work is going far? I am from Barcelona
thank you for your achievement. Dignifying human beings who have been lost in a moment of confusion in their life and looking at them horizontally, directly in the eyes, I believe that a great step for them to regain sovereignty in their lives is something very special. I am using the translator I hope it does its job well.

I started working with young people in care around 2005 in Cork.In the 10 years I did that work watching drug use going from 0 to 100 was very scary. Not been able to help the young people with their addiction despite trying so hard was the worst and I think it’s what broke me the most in the end. After some traumatic events in my own life that left me pretty spent emotionally, I moved onto a different role.I live in hope that these young people were able to move on too. There was one particular lad I’d love to know what became of him but I fear he didn’t make it. You made be thinking about to him and even now have a better understanding what was going on for him.

Wexford use to give my aunty literally anyting u wanted mostly valume one very dodgy nurse used to invite my aunty to her house bck then 97 when my aunty was hooked on drugs trust me opiod withdrawal is one worst things that ever happene d to me god bless to anyone who has gone through or is going through proper cold turkey from opioid jesus there is no words to explain or describe it im sure many will agree that restless legs would do a persons head in💯
