    I love Perkins. We used to hang out there after concerts and such in highschool back in Ohio:) Grilled cheese and French fries! Sometimes the patty melt:-)❤ thanks Royce😊

    Interesting to hear about the history of the Ruben. Only had them with pastrami. As an Irishman I was raised on Cornbeef! Great content as always Royce 😊

    Royce once spoke of putting leftover Chinese food on day old pizza. I really wish he'd do that for a video.

      I’ve put leftover sesame chicken on a sub roll before, that was delicious.

    Had a Perkins in Ann Arbor, Michigan when I was a kid. Was our go to after church.

      I bet he was thinking "scratch the tomatoes." Scratch, as in "scratch off," but the word etch inserted itself in there in his mind and foiled his plan.

    90s Perkins was fantastic, high quality food and good prices. Like everything, it changed ownership and started using the same kind of approach as Applebees - pre-made/reheats

    I was shocked to see you eating food from Perkins. I haven’t been there in over 20 years. I really liked that place. I went to one in Elkhart Indiana when I lived there. I got the club many times. They also had a great bread bowl with soup. I would definitely rate them way above Denny’s. I may have bad luck but Denny’s has never impressed me. Great post.

      I remember Perkins from my childhood. We used to call it Perkins Pancake House. It was very much like an IHOP (International House of Pancakes) in those days. I think the company contacted/shrank from those days because I haven't seen one in years anywhere that I've been. I'm not surprised they still exist in certain places.
      As for them being like Denny's but better, well yeah, everything is better than Denny's. LOL - okay that's not nice. I always liked the idea of Denny's but it's always been disappointing to me.

      They're still alive and well here. I see them as "truckstop" restaurants. 24 hour cafes that cater to the road trip crowd. People who've had a long drive and want a hot cup of coffee while sitting down.
      Of course, I also live in a very Christian community, so it's also a big destination for Sunday brunch after church.

      The Perkins I went to was right off the busy interstate. They weren’t open 24 hours if I recall correctly. It was pretty much a family restaurant. It would be incredibly busy on Sundays after church. I had many good meals there.@@roycemiller4388

    Arby used to have a turkey Rachel, which was a Reuben sandwich with turkey instead of pastrami. It was so delicious.

    It isnt country club. The club is what you call the extra slice of bread. You can add a club to any sandwich to make it a club. It isnt an acronym it just is what it is..... a sandwich with a club...... a big mac is a club sandwich and any sandwich can be requested as a club. I have worked as a chef for many years at clubs and hotels I can assure you this is the case.

    I believe their slogan has changed numerous times over the years. Breakfast, Dinner and Everything In-between, Breakfast is just the Beginning, and "It's Baked Into Everything We Do."

    I worked overnights at both Dennys and Perkins over the years... such crazy stuff could happen on the overnight as i am guessing Royce would understand with the security gig. As a server at the restaurant... the cooks would make me such good food... that ordering food is forever ruined😅

    The original CLUB sandwich means Chicken Lettuce Under Bacon.

      I honestly didn't know that. Thanks for sharing.

    • @MrBigangry
      @MrBigangry ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is entirely wrong. The 3rd piece of bread in between is the "club". A club sandwich is any sandwich that has a "club". A bigmac is a club sandwich. Any sandwich can be requested as a club sandwich.

      Your Wrong 😑 👎👎

    • @Mickcotton
      @Mickcotton ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it Doesn’t! That acronym doesn’t stand the test of time or common sense! The original only had 2- slices of bread ! So to say by adding a 3rd slice makes it a Club is Wrong ! Club only stands for one Thing ! That it was invented in A Club ! Period ! A Bobs Big Boy Double Decker & A Big Mac both have 3- slices of Bread. And They Are Not ! Club Sandwiches

    • @MrBigangry
