right im not the brightest lamp in the class , can we concur the tightening is created by the clamp pushing the wedges inwards and thats it ? and does it have enough force for glue ups
Fair comment. I have been slack, but I am working on some videos at the moment, so stay tuned. Out of interest, did you find the shop made clamps interesting?
I did,for those of us in Australia, where everything is so damned expensive ,the simplicity and (relatively) low cost of them are great and I will definately use this idea .Thank you for your reply and I will subscribe in the hopes of seeing more in the future.
Wow, what an ingenious idea!
Many thanks for sharing.
Thanks Alan for sharing your great idea! This is a way that a lot of us can afford to clamp large projects. Very well done video!
Glad you liked it! It's not my idea, but useful none the less.
Nice design and plan. I can make these with my current set of tools, which means it's great for me.
Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like it. It has the 3 things I look for in a project. It's simple, effective and cheap.
This is it....gonna make pair
Have fun!
An intelligent and pragmatic style ! good job
This is what I want to comment , exactly that, but you preceded me
GENIUS!
Wow! Simple and great idea!
Your good man !
Great! I am going to build those.

Hi. The wedges can create more than enough pressure for glue ups, especially if you give them a bit of a tap with a hammer.
Liked it , Subscribed
this type of clamping was common in wooden ship building ,
why not set the end pieces in a dado? Wouldn't that make them stronger? Granted a overhang but I would think more strength.
A dado would make it stronger, but the scews do OK. The clamps are more than adequate for glueing boards together. Strive for simplicity.
Nice, but as all wood clamps, very light duty.
I would subscribe but your last video was 9 months ago,not much point really if your not interested in your own channel.

I live in Sydney, so I get what you mean about how much things cost.
