nice video! im congolese and i’m so mad my parents never taught me lingala OR my mum at least kikongo. i only know little french as she stopped talking to me in french at a young age. i’m proud of where i’m from and i don’t want my heritage to fade away as i can’t speak lingala or kikongo. i hope there still time for me to learn 😔. i would like my kids to be able to speak my mother tongue
It’s never too late!! Thank you, I’m glad you found some value in this. Feel to start on some basic Kikongo in your free time here 👉🏾 th-cam.com/video/ckiv-PRAmu4/w-d-xo.html 😊 I’ll try to teach you guys as much as I can.

your speaking kituba which is mixed with lingala and french. Kikongo is completely different and pure. well done for your attempt
kisha Patel Thank you for your input! I had no idea that “kituba” was an actual thing, since we always used it in a social context 😂😂 But yes, for sure Kikongo from Bandundu is not the pure one. I always have trouble understanding Kikongo from Bas-Congo.
Nge ke tuba yo mbote, keep us sis don’t forget our Mather tongue it’s the best
I discovered that Kikongo is the correct bantu language of the Creator, and the original language of the real Hebrews.
Wow. Felicitations. Nzambi ku sakumuna nge mingi.

Great lesson. I do not know how to speak kikongo
I really want to learn it, as a Mukongo from Angola, I'd like to speak more than just Portuguese. Where, and how to start?
Ask your family members first. It would be useful for you to maybe know the Kikongo dialect your family speak so you can learn it or search to learn a close dialect

One love
Thank you so much for watching and for the encouragement.
Hello. I'm from Ivory Coast. Through your channel, I can hear a person speak Kikongo for the first time. It sounds extraordinarily as melodious as Lingala. Is there a link between Kikongo and Lingala? Are they dialects of a same mother language or two different languages? Is there any mutual intelligibility between them.
Loool no connections. She is mixing her kikongo with lingala
@@kongolese4693 So according to you, what should I keep in mind? What I can hear on the channel is not Kikongo?
Lingala came from kikongo. It was influnced. Lingala did not exist until the late 19th century because europeans were trying to understand the congolese people. The language before was called bogangi
@@Epokouabou960 This girl is not speaking Kikongo. She is speaking a creole language. Lingala itself also is a creole language.
Lingala just uses a lot of Kikongo words cos Lingala is a creole.
Kikongo sounds nothing like lingala or even kituba. When we in Madimba speak Kikongo, the fake 1s cannot understand us besides "Mbote" which is a greeting.
@@EllahMiyamu Lingala does not come from Kikongo. The Kinshasa heads just throw in loads of Kikongo words in their lingala.
Kikongo is an ancient language and studies show it is at least 2,000 year old.
Lingala was created by Europeans.
Is Lingala and Kikongo similar?
Yes, but the degree of similarity depends on which Lingala or Kikongo versions you’re speaking.
Kembo Kembo to na Tata Nzambi Mpungu Tulendo Yah Kongo my lingala came back because of him 😁😁💯

Lol people say it is fake kikongo but truth is kituba is a kikongo based creole which has a lot of influence from kikongo languages. Furthermroe you all sound alike just a few differences and accents based on locations 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Congotalks243 however has added a lot of lingala and french in her kituba. In Bandundu the kituba is very different to this. I got friends from Bandundu regions

They call to the food as Kumina , do you know what does it mean? Kumina also I see it is a religion, músic and dance in Jamaica. Do you what does mean Mapalé? Is a dance of african descendants here and in a Kumina song in Jamaica is said , in Jamaica kumina practicants are Bakongo Bakongo descendants.

Hi there. Just bumped into your channel and I love your contents regarding the kongo kingdom/language, etc...Do you know of resources to learn more kikongo?
Hi! Thank you. There are very limited resources on Kikongo and also it depends on which country you're aiming for because Angola and Congo Brazzaville also speak Kikongo which can be different to the DRC's Kikongo. Hi my friend, my name is Diego, I'm from #PERU, and I have a question for you, what is the mean of "Samba bantú" please.
Thanks for your help ;)
Both are kikongo words .Bantu means human beings .Samba is a kikongo verb whose meaning I forget .It is rarely used nowadays.
You are really courageous and you have good initiatives. I permit myself just one remark. The Kikongo that you are used was created by the colonialist to favorisate the porguguesh, spanish and others commercial communication. The name was Kikongo ya l'etat or mono kutuba. It was positif for the unification of all the population among bakongo and others....
Am I hearing french in this language?
While Kikongo has been influenced by other languages over time, including Portuguese. I’m not sure if it’s French that you hear!
