Markowski - Famishius Fantasticus

The Westchester Symphonic Winds performs Michael Markowski’s tongue-in-cheek tribute to Looney Tunes cartoons, Famishius Fantasticus, in their fall concert of 2017. If you remember the freeze frames in the classic Wile E. Coyote/Roadrunner cartoons, the title and the piece itself will make perfect sense. Markowski has woven original melodies that could easily have been scored in those cartoons, giving us zany visual references and crazy sound effects. The result is a flamboyantly fun composition, delivered in its own ACME box.
