- Hello Flosstube! We are two sisters who both cross stitch. Allison has been cross stitching for five years, and Stephanie is brand new to the hobby and stitching her professional travel photography.
In this video, we share our experience entering the cross stitch competition at our local state fair, the Oklahoma State Fair. We share inspirational Flosstubes that helped us, what it was like entering, and tips for entering your own fair.

I loved watching this! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on your wins! I've won 18 ribbons for my xs in county fairs. I entered the Ohio State Fair just once and didn't place, it's just too much driving to do it again. Maybe one day.
I taught a friend to xs and she got best of show on her first entry. It took me years to get best of show, and was one that literally took me a weekend to complete, go figure! Art really is subjective 😊
I've won 42 ribbons for my baked goods. Much less time to prepare for that.
Wow that’s an amazing feat! I’m sure perfecting the recipes takes a bit of time though 😂 Thank you!
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe thank you. I haven't stitched in quite a while. Turns out, I got cataracts earlier than the average person. One eye is fixed, so I'm ready to stitch again. Seeing your video really got me pumped up. I even ended up dreaming about it once I finally zonked out 😁 Looking forward to more of your videos.
Thank you for this video! We don't have fairs in the UK (that I know of) so it was lovely seeing yours. You two have also inspired me to dig out and finish the cross stitch pattern of my husband and I that has been languishing for almost 10 years. Stephanie, I also LOVE the street scene you entered and would totally buy that if you ever released it ❤
Thanks so much! 😊 I actually did relase it here on our shop crossstitchtheglobe.etsy.com (no pressure just giving you the info lol). We are already thinking about what we are going to enter this year! We love our fair.
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe oh my gosh! You have a shop! *Spits out coffee and goes running over* 🤗
Congrats on your state fair wins! I didn’t even realize cross stitch was a category, I might have to look up to see if it is in Oregon.
You should! I have no idea what states have it and what don't, but if Oregon does you should totally enter!
Thank you for the video. Would you consider doing a video showing each of you using your pattern design programs? Yes, I am suggesting another extra.
Great idea! I don't know when we will be able to record them, but I will put it on the list for the next few months.
I love the fair! I was in Tulsa County 4-H and I would enter around 50 craft entries every year and had many chickens in the poultry show. The Tulsa County Free Fair and Tulsa State Fair were a big deal. We called it ‘fair season’. Tulsa State Fair no longer has a craft section. :(
I’ve recently started entering in the local county fair as an adult.
That's so fun! Yuck that Tulsa pulled out crats.
Thank you guys so much for the shout out!! Love your channel! And congrats on your all your projects!! Good luck with your Long Dog! I looking forward to updates on that! 🖤💙
You’re welcome and it’s so well deserved! ❤️
22:20 did you just say there’s a OK stitchers FB group?
Yes! It's here: facebook.com/groups/564017114122613
