Thank you again, Fr. I wonder if the warnings about delusion are about the pride that can sneak into our praxis if we focus on saying the prayer as a task to be accomplished, or an achievement...? I wonder if Elder Joseph's point is that in simply saying the prayer, the name of Christ overcomes these difficulties in us...? 🤔

All things must be done for the Glory of God and any accomplishment is by His Grace alone. All manner of spiritual efforts not just now tic prayer can be trampled upon with pride.

@@OrthodoxExperience Quite so -- first challenge of our prayer (esp. in modern Western culture) being asking to pray well -- "pray Thou Thyself in me" - ?...
