It’s true, the culture of nastiness and impulsive reactions, especially on social media, has really taken over. Empathy seems to have taken a backseat, replaced by quick judgments and hostility. Many of them don’t dig deeper into policies or fully understand the implications of what they support. They latch onto soundbites or opinions that align with their biases, and that often leads to misinformed decisions. This kind of approach is definitely reflected in the political sphere of the island where those who should hold leaders accountable instead contribute to complacency. The cycle feeds itself: poor leadership thrives because the electorate either doesn’t care enough to demand better or doesn’t take the time to critically evaluate the bigger picture.
Very well said!!! I couldn’t agree more. It feels like lack of critical thinking and understanding is the norm. At some point something has to give. 🙏🏾
@@jetsettingwithjackiewhat shocks me more than anything are the university educated ones... (all races) I don't get it. What is their excuse for being so ignorant? 😢
I’m not sure if there is one to be honest. It really needs to be looked at in the future. Like how did we get to this point. Somewhere, at some point there was a shift and people lost their minds. We just need to figure out when and where.
I'm from Tobago, it's the same here with the religious part. I live in New York and know that the 2 gender law will be a major issue. When you explain that, they don't care.
I have Jamaican friends{a couple] that love Trump and Putin. Especially Putin cos apparently 'Putin said Jesus was black' ... And if I try to have an intelligent conversation with the husband, suggesting Putin + Trump don't even like their own people and that they are classist, racist, mysogynist, etc, the husband talks over me, gets louder and louder and the accent becomes stronger and stronger and the arms start flaying up in the air until I disassociate... The wife was sending me so called facts from obscure TH-cam accounts and websites with made up stories which I have had to debunk everytime until she stopped. Interestingly, I haven't heard from her since last week. Some people choose to be ignorant, but I think most of all, alot of these people are so at will because they want anarchy.
That’s must be so hard to deal with. It needs to be studied more how people are and can be attracted to persons who exhibit these behaviors and traits like DJT and Putin. It’s hard to comprehend for people who actually have a soul and some form of empathy. I pray that one day the world will not have to suffer from the mental torture that people like these inflict.
I just went home to Jamaica and I didn’t encounter any Trump loving people. My family isn’t trump loving people. This is news to me. I’ll look into it because I haven’t seen the out pour of love for him from our people.
That’s good to know but if you are online look in the comment sections of posts. Or if you are on TikTok listen in on some of the lives… you would be surprised by our own people. I don’t typically find many that I encounter in person to be DJT supporters but online it is prevalent.

I’m not surprised. The Caribbean countries are very similar when it comes to the influence religion has on their people.
Is this love reciprocated?
That’s what I want to know. I don’t see it but I could be wrong.
I agree with you
