If I was Kevin I would have to consider bargaining for the life of Mary. I thought that was the reasoning behind the assault, using Mary as a bargaining chip to seal the deal. Stunning performances from the whole cast, not something I would normally say for Keanu, but in this he was gold.
Another excellent reaction. You do a great job showing enough of things like nudity and gore for context, without going overboard. If you decide to stay on a supernatural viewing path. I highly recommend the movie Fallen.
Kat. You make me laugh. You say on every video you hate Horror movies. I bet you love them now. Thanks for bringing back lots of memories of my favourite Horror movies x
Brilliant reaction to a terribly underrated film. Keanu was off the hit of the movie "Speed" and in order to secure Pacino, he took a pay cut. Just as criminally underrated was Charlize's performance. Charlize is incredible in the film. Keanu is incredible. Al is almost too convincing in his role, and his lifts in his heels. Kat thinks we all should have a Charlize of our own at home.
Charlize Theron´s character in this movie is the ULTIMATE example of a woman who´s so SHINING and GLOWING at first but then her man´s gaslighting, neglect, cheating and narcissism turn her into something that people think is a crazy person but she´s just been abused to death.
Maybe is an unpopular opinion, but I think her character is pretty weak. Instead of fighting her "demons" and making her own decisions, she preferred to complain and wait for her husband to solve absolutely everything. She could have even left him and left New York, but she allowed herself to be influenced until she went crazy. Obviously the damage they did to her was not deserved, but she is not a strong character.
@@mOviEmAkEr267676 of course it´s 'weak' but first off, calling someone 'weak' is like shaming them for not being able to do something and second, this is something that happens pretty often in relationships, people get dependent on each other so much they can´t leave that easily, especially if we´re not talking about the last 5 years that female empowerment has become stronger.
For all intents and purposes she is a crazy person, unless you think somebody not believing you when you say you see demons or that you were raped and cut up by a guy you literally just sat in court with is "gaslighting."
@@thatswhyidrink the signs were all over the place for Keanu to realise she’s telling the truth, he just didn’t wanna see them cause he was power hungry and distracted by the redhead. Plus, my initial comment is about women who are gaslighted and neglected into suicide, which is a thing in case you don’t know, but of course you had to specify with THIS particular case where she’s talking about demons and ovaries removal. Plus when you meet a person and they’re fine and you get together and you’ve been with them for a while and they never showed any signs of crazy and suddenly they start talking about crazy shit, first thing a loving partner would do is to think there’s something wrong here, why is my girlfriend suddenly like that? If someone is THAT crazy they show signs from the beginning. He didn’t see any of that in the beginning, did he? So, you don’t just put your partner in a mental asylum cause she’s getting in the way of your career plans and allow random Karen shark demons to visit her. HE was the weak one, not her.
@@mOviEmAkEr267676her character isn’t the lead character in the movie. She’s a great supporting role - showcasing the changes happening, the evil influences at play, etc. Not every female character needs to be Clarice Starling
You know the joke about the marine not washing up? "In the Marines they teach us not to p on our hands"? Well they aren't called devil dogs for nothing
The broad gate and narrow gate are from the gospels. According to some Scottish stories, we may also see the start of three roads: the thorny road of the righteous to heaven, the broad road of the wicked to hell and a bonny looking road finally leading to Faery. Kevin gets another chance, but it's not clear he's going to choose the narrow gate. The devil is opening the gate broad enough to fit all his pride. Keanu was also in _A Scanner Darkly_ which has a sad epilog. He is in Branagh's _Much Ado About Nothing_, but the role is beyond him.
The first and major clue in this movie was the name of Al Pacino's character name. Yes, John Milton and John Milton's most popular work was work 'Paradise lost.' Just a few ends to tie after you who and what the bad guy really is.
I'm not sure if you are up on your English Lit classical education (I definitely am not) but this tidbit I know: John Milton (the real poet, not the Al Pacino character) wrote one of the most famous poems ever written called Paradise Lost. The poem tells the story of the rebellion of Satan, the creation of the world, and finally the fall of Adam and Eve. I love the fact that Al Pacino (Satan) uses this alias in the movie.
I watched this when I was about 17/18 and I was hooked from the very beginning. The shock of the baby scene, and the twist of Keanu's victory (albeit potentially short lived,) were terrible and amazing. So glad you watched this 😊
Heckin yes! One of my favorite movies of all time! So glad. Pacino's monologue about God being a sadist and a trickster was wild, and so much passion from him in that scene. I love this movie so much!
Kat- ur ending comment. "Am I thrilled to see Charlize Theron & Keanu Reeves romantically involved. Yes! Why?! Cuz I have a pulse."😂🤣😂 U do realize that Al Pacino's character name Milton is a reference to John Milton, the man who wrote Paradise Lost, which starts w/the fallen angels including Satan being sent to Hell. Many moons ago, I had to read it in high school. I saw this movie w/my girlfriend when it came out in theaters. She didn't get why everything reset. I explained that the Devil was going to continually tempt Kevin because the Devil wants him on his side. She told me "Kevin already denied the Devil so why try again?" My answer was "Because he's the Devil." Although I loved Charlize Theron @ the time, I lusted after Danish actress Connie Nielson, especially w/that red hair.🤩 I am a sucker for pretty redheads.😍 Anyway, great reaction & thanks for the giggle.😊

You're the best Kat! This movie is a blast to watch and fun to rewatch because of every part of it Pacino, the great acting from Charlize, Keanu generally being crushed by everyone being more talented than him (and I say that with a lot of love for the great man), and the perfect execution of a great concept. There's a fun follow-up movie to watch called Stay Tuned. It's only mildly horror adjacent but Eddie Barzoom plays a character that will make you laugh after watching this. : )
lol, i never noticed at the end they blew a great opportunity in song choice, going with 'Paint it Black' instead of 'Sympathy for the Devil' as always great reaction Kat
I don't think Sympathy For the Devil fits since that's more of a portrayal of an agent of chaos. The song is based on a character in Soviet era novel called The Master and Margarita, and was also an inspiration for Billy Bob Thornton's character in Fargo.
The ending is fitting. Just because you beat one temptation. It doesn't mean they stop.

Thanks. I knew that the moment he said it when I first saw this film.
Fun size
who doesn't know that
Slightly better than Louis Cypher I suppose.....
@@craigfurness5278 Yeah, that's pretty grade-school, lol
This one had so many gazes averted
49:01 "The right thing." Jinx buy the coke. I love how happy you became saying the line with Keanu 😂👍🏼
It's primarily just used this way in Great Britain, but "Advocate" also means "Lawyer". Adds another level to the movie title.
(Technically, "advocate" is slightly different, like a trial lawyer vs. contract lawyer, but it still works.)
Absolutely loving your reactions. "Watching horror movies while not a horror fan," is a fun set-up but the fact that you're actually hilarious is the icing on the cake. You might wanna check out Night of the Creeps sometime in the future.
Love your sense of humour. Similar Movies: Angel Heart, Jacobs Ladder, Serpent and the Rainbow. best Vampire movies: Let the right one in, a woman walks home alone at night, Transfiguration, Spring. - Thanks for the amazing reactions
That might be my all time favorite Al Pacino performance.
Thanks! Just a little tip for the joy you showed at the end. Made me smile.
"The real horror is"...that press man never washed his hands before leaving the bathroom. 😬
Taking a line from "Justice League":
"You gonna wash your hands?"
"NO. Cuz I'm EVIL."
You know the joke about the marine not washing up? "In the Marines they teach us not to p on our hands"? Well they aren't called devil dogs for nothing
The use of color contrast, as well as materials on the walls was masterfully designed for this movie.
I'm not sure if you are up on your English Lit classical education (I definitely am not) but this tidbit I know:
John Milton (the real poet, not the Al Pacino character) wrote one of the most famous poems ever written called Paradise Lost.
The poem tells the story of the rebellion of Satan, the creation of the world, and finally the fall of Adam and Eve.
I love the fact that Al Pacino (Satan) uses this alias in the movie.
20:17 - "Wh- Not much, what ... what are you doing?" in that situation had me laughing.
Alpacino really is fucking phenomenal in everything
…when you rewatch this film you notice specific character expressions and mannerisms that make so much sense lol
My God! This is cinema! Damn!
I watched this when I was about 17/18 and I was hooked from the very beginning. The shock of the baby scene, and the twist of Keanu's victory (albeit potentially short lived,) were terrible and amazing. So glad you watched this 😊
Whenever I see Delroy Lindo I hear "Stop eating my sesame Mr Hormolka!" 🤣🤣🤣 IYKYK Another guilty pleasure!
"Hit the road as they say and have a nice day."
Sees Charlize Theron - "Nothing better happen to her."
😆😆
Look , but don't touch. touch , but don't taste. taste , but don't swallow, Al Pacino is the perfect Satan 😂😂
Yup. Al Pacino is Satan? Perfect.
Heckin yes! One of my favorite movies of all time! So glad. Pacino's monologue about God being a sadist and a trickster was wild, and so much passion from him in that scene. I love this movie so much!
"And he's gotta sleep at night?!"
Kat, never change!
Kat- ur ending comment. "Am I thrilled to see Charlize Theron & Keanu Reeves romantically involved. Yes! Why?! Cuz I have a pulse."😂🤣😂
U do realize that Al Pacino's character name Milton is a reference to John Milton, the man who wrote Paradise Lost, which starts w/the fallen angels including Satan being sent to Hell. Many moons ago, I had to read it in high school.
I saw this movie w/my girlfriend when it came out in theaters. She didn't get why everything reset. I explained that the Devil was going to continually tempt Kevin because the Devil wants him on his side. She told me "Kevin already denied the Devil so why try again?" My answer was "Because he's the Devil."
Although I loved Charlize Theron @ the time, I lusted after Danish actress Connie Nielson, especially w/that red hair.🤩 I am a sucker for pretty redheads.😍
Anyway, great reaction & thanks for the giggle.😊
Great reaction to a great movie. The Faculty or The People Under the Stairs next please!
Al Pacino was so great in this..The Tic Tac Toe chicken always gets me 😂😂😂
The redhead that Kevin Lomax is interesting is played Connie Nielsen who also Lucilla,, Commodus' sister. in "Gladiator".
And Queen Hippolyta in Wonder Woman among many other roles. That woman is talented and beatiful.
ive watched this movie so many times and ive never got emotional while watching it.. damn whats up with this girl and her reactions shes got me all teary
That unique form of catcall fail is now called a Katcall.
"Shut up Pam" LOL
A Florida lawyer practicing out of state without having taken the NY Bar Exam... now THAT'S the horror of this movie!
End of Days with Arnold is a good flick.
Thanks!
lol, i never noticed at the end they blew a great opportunity in song choice, going with 'Paint it Black' instead of 'Sympathy for the Devil' as always great reaction Kat
I don't think Sympathy For the Devil fits since that's more of a portrayal of an agent of chaos.
The song is based on a character in Soviet era novel called The Master and Margarita, and was also an inspiration for Billy Bob Thornton's character in Fargo.
@@iceprincess2134 true, I think my brain just said ooo Rolling Stones , they had a song about the 'Devil'
