    Honda Civic.
I like using Android Auto but plugging in a USB cable is a pain in the backside and I am forever leaving the phone in the car.
This little box is a perfect solution and actually works as I want it to.
    Updated info.
Will not work if you have an active VPN connection.
Turn of the VPN for the Android Auto connection to start.
Currently you can get a 40% discount at Amazon.
    So £32.99 instead of £54.99

Thanks for this presentation! Was just wondering how well the mic button works, it's the only one you haven't tested...! It's the Google Assistant, right? And what physical mic does it use, the car mic or the phone mic? And the audio answer is delivered on the car speakers I guess? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for this... So is this using your mobile data and does it use a subscription?

      Hi
No subscription but it works by using your mobile data as required.

On your first try after the setup, I dont think you had restarted the VPN. Does it work if the VPN is running and that was just a config issue? Otherwise youd have to switch the VPN off every time you got in the car.

It won't work with the VPN active, a long complained about issue it seems. I don't mind turning it off as I already have the phone open to set the house alarm. But I can see that being a big issue for some.

The issue for me with wireless for either Auto or CarPlay is that if using the GPS it tends to flatten the battery so the phone needs to be plugged in anyway on longer trips. I suppose, TBF, this would be good for shorter trips.

A good point. I rarely do long journeys so it isn't an issue for me.

But can't you just simply connect the phone to the second USB port (if equipped), which, is, well, in many cars, the charging port?

@@Steven-do2dp yep but then it might as well be wired!

Be cool if it would wirelessly charge your phone as well.
