Thanks for video I've had success with Ornamec Over the Top and Triclophr. I blanket with Ornamec and Crossbow, kills weeds and hurts Bermuda in a good way
Excellent tips. I would agree that the "do nothing" philosophy is only a short-term fix. With the spots I've identified, I've got to wait until they are actively growing. Happy Friday!
I think I read somewhere, that adding Turflon Ester to Fusilade helps not damage the fescue as much. I'm on my second season battling bermuda. Fusilade smoked a bunch last fall. I'm curious to see how everything looks in a few weeks. I'm sure I'll be hitting it again.
Love this vid, Mr. Ferguson. Poa Triv is the absolute worst weed I've dealt with personally. I put down a fert yesterday and saw Poa Triv popping up in a few places. I really wanted to pull out a flame thrower.
Hey Mr Ferguson, I’m a newbie at the grass thing but I have recently bought my late grandfather’s house and it has a good stand of fescue, but Bermuda is starting to try to take over.. I am considering overseeding this year and with us being in September, was wondering if the Ornamic would hinder the germination?
I had my Landscaper, put two rows of pavers between our property line so that my neighbors centipede does not come into my grass. I can see it trying to cross over the pavers and just nip it in the bud. So far so good.
I have a big yard with a lot of Bermuda, so if I spray it with Fusillade this fall maybe starting in sept. can I still overseed without restricting the seed. I would like to start now but I have some areas that are probably as much as 1500 sq ft solid. I have about 26,000 sq ft total.
There’s supposed to be Velocity herbicide coming out to mitigate Poa Triv in fescue. At 16oz for $500-700 not sure most will buy, but better as a group buy!
It Is Bad Reseeded And Poa Triv is In Some Places Was Supposed To Start In Nov.Dropped The Ball Arpil And May Will Take Em OUT Keep The Grass Freshly Cut Fred L. Apex NC God Bless .
Seems like the Roundup option hurts the most, but is most effective! Read this several times. Aren’t you worried your neighbors Bermuda will creep over? I’ve seen so many yards where one house is Fescue and beside is Bermuda. Such a curvy and ugly transition/line.
FWIW, I tried the Roundup way to remove Bermuda. After about 3 years, it came back. I don't really see a good way to do it "one time". I think even if you start with Roundup, you should look at using Ornamec or similar for the next 2-3 years.
Besides taking a bobcat to the front lawn, I don't know of a way to rid out the bermuda without a herbicide. It's either gonna be a selective herbicide, or something like a weed and grass killer, and starting over again. It's such a tough grass type, there are few options, besides letting it win and converting over to that grass type.
@@MrFergusonLawn Actually, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of the Bermuda grass. I have researched many methods and the Bermuda will always make a comeback. It literally is the grass from hell. You can't permanently get rid of it. All the best.
Great information Mr Ferguson being proactive is a good thing. Have a great weekend.
You too David!
Thanks for video

I’m in the transition zone and have cool-season grass. I’m fortunate that I haven’t had to deal with this in my lawn 🤞🏻
It took over my garden

Yep, same with ol Dad. He has some spots we'll show soon that are like the picture. "Ewww" stuff we gotta handle.
Looking good brother!

LOL, I'm right there with you man. Dealing with it too!
I'm attempting to wipe the Triv with glyphosate, applying it with a rag. Since it sticks up higher. Unsure if this will work, but we will see 😬

Looks like a cheaper way to go than pylex to knock out Crabgrass and Bermuda in a TTF lawn. Thanks for the advice.
What kind of boots are you wearing there? Nice video once again
Some type of waterproof boots. I think they are called tuff boots?

@@kr5289 i wouldnt bother bro bermuda will come back roots too deep... losing battle
@matt99t73 Yeah, probably right, that stuff is hard to get rid of.
Does the Ornamec work? I saw in a video of your in the past that it hurt your fescue
@@johns1646 it will stun fescue, kill it if you go heavy. To me it’s just better for me to leave it alone. I’m dangerous with it.

Wow, I hope that stuff works, but too rich for my blood!
@@MrFergusonLawn yeah I imagine glyphosate will be the choice for many! Good luck this spring and summer!

Nah, bc I know how to handle it lol. I'll likely use Ornamec 170 if it is an issue.
