    Amazing work ladies. I just finished the Fjolla sweater by Isabell Kraemer using Willow & Lark Ramble and fortunately for me, the sweater grew for me after wet blocking because i had gone down a needle size and should not have, though the fabric is perfect. It was lucky for me and really shows that superwash yarn will grow after blocking. In my case, it blocked to perfection. 😊

    Love your podcast and your pattern choices. I added 2 new ones so far today. You are so right about moving the stitch markers from one sleeve to the other as you go; I've found that confusing , so I add markers on both sleeves as I go (because I knit them concurrently). I don't like, and only do magic loop if absolutely necessary. Lynda

    • @woolandwine
      @woolandwine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lynda! It makes so much sense to add the markers to both sleeves. I can’t imagine how you can make them the same length without identical markers. Cheers! 🧶🍷

    Claudia, love your sweater! Looked up the Mariechen pattern and from the pattern description it appears that the button band, neckband are picked up and knit after the body is done. If I am correct Re this, do you have any feedback on how did you found/liked this method of adding the button bands? Another great podcast!

    • @woolandwine
      @woolandwine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Karen, This is my one and only cardigan that I have knit. I had no problem adding the button band. It's very simple to pick up stitches. I think my only comment would be that she did yarn overs for the button holes. I'm not sure how I feel about those. I think most button holes are knitted but I'm not sure. You could certainly modify is it to do it that way. It was an enjoyable knit as well. Thanks for watching.

      Hi Pat! I got them at Hobbii.com in the accessories department. I think I searched the website for stitch holders or keepers. I purchased two sets. OMG, that In Stillness 2 sweater by Alicia Plummer is an amazing sweater for a man. I have wanted to knit a sweater for my husband but it had to be perfect for me to put in the work on it. He absolutely has to wear it. I also like the Willow & Lark Ramble yarn and i think it will be perfect for a man’s sweater. I can’t wait to see yours. I will be ordering a bunch of the Willow & Lark Ramble just as soon as i get my next yarn allowance. I have to spread out my purchases so as not to upset the husband. 😜

    I just love your videos. The Slipstravaganza is gorgeous, I think it must one of Stephen's best designs. It got me doing last years MKAL, Shawlography. I started this year's, but by clue 2 it just wasn't happening. Instead, I am using the yarn for the Fenne sweater....in the project pages there is one made with four colours, so I've just added one extra colour...I'm going to love it! I think I noticed the Drawing sweater on Instagram, but now seeing that you're doing it, it caught my eye again!...I've gone right over and purchased the pattern. I think one of my favourite yarn shops in Toronto usually has Black Friday sales...if so, I'll be buying yarn for this. It's funny that something that started as an American thing (black Friday sales), has become something worldwide 😄. I've also been wanting to try jacquard ladder-back, and this pattern may work with that in the lower part of the colour-work.

    • @woolandwine
      @woolandwine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sandra! Thanks so much! I tried to look up the Fenne sweater and can’t find it. Maybe your phone did the dreaded auto correct? I love Black Friday deals! I tried ladder-back jacquard on my Orbits. It isn’t finished but I soaked it tonight…. It is drying overnight. I’ll know tomorrow how I feel about it. I was going to rip back but decided to block it before making a decision. My gauge looked like it got quite a bit looser. We will see what blocking did for it. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻. Cheers! 🧶🍷

    I just found you ladies on the TH-cam, and I wish I still lived in Indianapolis! We could meet up in real life! Alas, I left Indiana 35 years ago for On the Border Texas, and do not regret leaving the snow and ice behind. It is late on a Tuesday night in May, and I'm drinking cheap box wine and trying to complete a pair of wool socks for a friend who lives in Iowa. It was so wonderful hanging out with you two. I do two at a time sleeves on non colorwork sweaters. To try it on I put a barber cord in one sleeve and leave the needles in the other. Really quick. @@woolandwine Yes I bought some, I made a vest as a first test and loved it and now working on a sweater (I used 1 strand of unspun and 1 lace weight mohair blend resulting in a gauge of 20 sts with 4mm needles). The plates come with 2 strands, and has ~ 100gr per plate. All the best and have a great weekend.
