For those that have slight overpronation concerns and have run in it, how does this the Cielo X1 go considering the cutout on the insole is on the lateral side, would i be correct in thinking it pushes you more lateral than medial, thus in turn being a bit of a savior for those who overpronate? Thanks
This is tough question to answer from a neutral runner. It does seem to be the case, however I would want to defer to a runner who pronates more than me to be sure before buying.
Sounds like the wear point for me is the same as the Mizuno pro 1..the heart rate drop and the perceived effort to push the pace is also the same as the Mizuno even compared with the Rocket x2..should be a great race shoe for me and my biomechanics.
Nice! I didn’t get the same experience with the WRP; I found d it to be a little too aggressive! The CX1 seems to be less aversive than the WRP, which works much better for me.
I just saw Hellah Sidibe running in Orlando wearing a dark gray pair of Cielo X1. He told me they were the prototype colorway. I wonder if/when they’ll release it?
Yeah, it’s a shame it weighs so much more than the competition, but I think it’s going to hold its own on race day! The Prime X is still a good race day option in its own way!
Too much $$$ for me but it does sound intriguing. I still need to get some miles into the original Altra Vanish Carbon that I snagged a month or two ago at $100 off the regular price.
I’ve been looking forward to this review Matt, and your others obviously, but especially this one
Thanks, Mark! I’m impressed with this shoe! It’s not perfect, but it’s still a brilliant racer!
I'm hearing nice complements on the Cielo X1 and with your thorough review, it confirms the hype.
Aside from the weight putting a lot of people off, it’s an excellent racing shoe.

Ok Matt, thanks for your input
Thanks for the review. Just purchased. First video I've watched of yours. Don't know why, but you remind me of Steve-o crossed with Chris Eubank.
Nice! Enjoy them, Jimmy! Steve-O and Eubank, eh? I’ll take it. I’ve definitely been called worse! 🤣

Lighter version for Prime X2? Sounds good even for wide feet.
Good comparison w/the PX2.
Unrelated question but any idea on when the Clifton 10 releases?
I haven't heard anything about the release date yet.
Would you recommend this shoes for marathon? I am going to take this shoes for my first marathon haha
Yes, I think they’re going to work great for a marathon. I’m running a marathon in them on Sunday.
Will you be running in the X1 at Donna on Sunday?
Yes, although I’m second guessing even racing now…..
@@its_Matt_B_ I get that. You're not that far removed from the Toronto Waterfront.
This or the Puma fast r nitro 2? Want to try a different racing shoe. Thanks
I haven’t run in the Fast-R 2 but I was looking at them tonight at a Puma event and they look interesting!
I I'm going to get a pair of the Cielo X1 and the puma fast r nitro elite 2.
Oh nice! I haven’t tried the Fast-R 2 yet, but I’m excited to run in them!
I'm a big weight runner, but I want to increase my speed, is it right for me?
I think heavier runners will benefit more from this shoe than lighter runners.
THANKS,I will buy it@@its_Matt_B_
thanks, I will buy it @@its_Matt_B_
Sounds like a fun shoe to take out of the garage and burn some rubbah!
100%! 💨
might get this when the darker color comes out...this is too bright of a colorway lol
Yeah, I get it! It will be good to see the different color ways they drop a bit later!

Does it fit for 2e feet?
No. For now it is only available in standard width.
Looks like a fun shoe like the Prime X, but too heavy for racing unfortunately.

Good deal on those Vanish Carbons! They’re one of the best looking shoes out there!
Way too heavy for racing. And I’m not paying $275 for a trainer
Yeah, it’s a little on the heavy side.
My super shoes choice for my marathon is NOT Cielo X1 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What’s your marathon shoe of choice?
Matt…. So how much Hoka paid you to be so biased?😂😂😂😂
Not enough.
