So many incredible life lessons in this beautiful classic film. Spoiled children with selfish entitlement issues.. An ungrateful wife..A humble 😌 hardworking wise husband with a thankless family and a real true friend who believes in his talents.
There are so many one liner gemstones 💎 throughout this film.
The anecdote for lack of gratitude is lessons of humility through a gifted wise man's example.
I love the part when the father takes his daughter to dinner. He handle the situation like a gem. I love the ending.
Dad's job was to "bring home the bacon" and was often under-appreciated like this poor man. They finally saw his worth. Excellent movie.
That’s a hidden gem I enjoyed watching. They just don’t make em like they used to.

The father reminded me of humorist Will Rogers. I enjoyed this morality play. Refreshing in today's upside down world. And I love a happy ending! Thanks PizzaFlix !

"You can take this job and stick it" -- spoken at minute 21 and 15 seconds! This fine sentiment ends with the words "in the ash can -- along with my compliments!" I'm thinking I'm going to love this movie, and hoping the selfish teenagers 1934 style are going to get their just comeuppance, too.

Poor old Dad, & he was such a swell guy! I felt sorry for him. There are too many chiefs & not enough indians in that family ! Loved that younger son tho, asking his brother if he was a prolitarian ! A single income earner supporting a family of five, two of them old enough to have jobs, a nice house in the burbs, a full dinner table every night. Hard to muster up the empathy.
He was a successful failure
The older children were spoiled, ungrateful, and entitled. That's what happens when parents overindulge their kids, always give them what they want, and don't tell them NO.

I agree, it was very unappealing for a long stretch at the beginning. I usually bail out from movies like this too, but I stuck it out this time and it turned into a pretty good message.
This movie is not funny at all in any way shape or form ... this movie couldn't buy a laugh ... !!
