    Way to much of this race is being fixated on the first safety car lol. There was a second safety car too, and Lando had 2 lap fresher tyres, was right behind Max, dry conditions, and couldn’t get it done. Miami Lando was in 5th before SC handed him first and he had a 6 lap tyre advantage from it. Didn’t hear these kind of narrative then from you pundits.
    You know what there was also? A qualifying Saturday where Norris had his chance to start ahead of Russel and Max, couldn’t get it done.

      A race without Safety Cars run entirely on intermediate tires, would have definitely gone to Norris. The Red Bull #1 recovered a small performance edge on the switch to dry tires, but that wouldn’t have been enough to breakdown the lead Norris was building on inters with all green flag pit stops. Safety Cars at Canada are inevitable though on a drying track, the challenge of dry tires on a damp track is a lot even for experienced drivers. You can easily build a scenario where Max or Lando win, George or Oscar however, were too inconsistent across the stints to win if either #1 or #4 finish intact. The lack of Ferraris simplified the race and I’d have expected Sainz in that mix for the win too, before qualifying.

      @@angel_one1259 that’s because the McLaren was running higher downforce for the wet weather, the RB and the Mercs were faster in a straight line by 4 or5 kph, you can check the telemetry, it’s available if you look for it. That’s why Lando did so well in the wet / damp conditions and his tire management was so much better, but as soon as the advantage he gained was taken away by the SC, he was never going to beat the redbull in a dry race with his set up. He might have had a chance on the C3 compound, but the McLaren chews up the C4s for some reason, they might not have been as old as Max’s tires at the end of the race but they were in worse condition and the surface was grained the fu*k.

  • @DestructiveCon
    @DestructiveCon 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

    Looking for too many bogus reasons when there is only one valid. After the last safety car Lando had enough time and chance to claim the lead, but he failed. Where Max was not overdriving the rear, Lando was to busy with trying to get maximum exit speed out of corners causing the tyres to grain. So the real reason is: Max, racing craft.

    Overconfidence killed both Lando and George 's race. They were counting on the weakness of the Red Bull car but they should never have discounted Max .
    Max did not try to overdrive his car and he won the race by being levelheaded and was helped by excellent strategy. Max and Red Bull know how to win a race , the rest is still learning.

    British media is reaching again to impose that a brit could have won it, Norris got unlucky with SC but was too cocky to go too long on the 2nd stop and by that time Max is comfortable with the slicks, then the second SC came and Norris has another shot if he was really faster with fresher tires than Max but no, Max left him lap after lap.

      I was wondering what that loud whistling noise was, as Oscar's car didn't make the same noise. I assumed something different in wing configuration or even a piece of plastic stuck somewhere 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Sargeant cost him the win. 11 seconds would have been a hard gap to overturn

      😂😂😂 there were 2 SC’s and McLaren didn’t pit Lando on that first one, they waited 1 lap, their mistake… Lando was still before pitentry and he could’ve pitted as he himself said…
      And the 2 restarts, Max nailed those and created a 5 sec and a 3 sec gap…. Lando wasn’t fast enough on the last 2 stints

      11 second gap would give a good amount of time to react to any strategy calls, also, for future SCs, overtaking was going to be very difficult off the dry line
      With no SCs at all Norris easily wins that race

      No. Lewis Cost Himself a Possible Win by NOT Qualifying High Enough!

      Lewis problem was his starting position and then being stuck behind Alonso for so long.
