couldn't agree more. I'm definitely gonna pick up a few of these books mentioned. I was already interested in the two theology books by Frank Sheed that he brought up, so this just helped solidify that decision, but I'm definitely gonna look into Catholicism for Dummies, and This is Our Faith. I already have the Catechism and am even going through the Catechism in a Year Podcast with Fr. Mike Schmitz which is phenomenal, but give just how much information is packed into the Catechism, I'd love to have absorb it all in different ways. I've already started another Catechism podcast now that I'm caught up on Fr. Mike's, and I'm sure i'll be doing plenty of re-listening to both, as well as reading the Catechism on my own time. Definitely nice to have stuff written more in layman's terms with further explanations too. the Catechism truly is an impressive piece of work.
The metaphor of a "deposit" suggests that this teaching is an inexhaustible treasure, that rewards reflection and study with new insights and deeper penetration into the mystery of the divine economy of salvation [God's plan for saving mankind]
thanks for the list
Great video! It would be nice if more Catholic TH-cam channels would do videos like this for people coming into the Church.

Fr. Hayes, thanks for another good video. Will you please explain the "deposit of faith" and why use the word "deposit"?
