Ship wars have always been a fandom problem not in canon problem. I’m a huge Amy fan and really I believe if it came down to it Amy would support Sonics decision plus sonic would always show a soft spot to Amy either way. That’s my headcannon.

I totally understand how amy feels. My dad died last year and Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year last year hasn't really been the same. It got kinda boring and heartbreaking. Dad usually starts a funny conversation and knows how to make everyone laugh. I still miss him.😢 and I'm just worried what next year has in store cause the last couple of years hasn't been great. And I doubt next year will be any better.
I'm sorry for your loss and I know what you're going through. When I was a kid, we always had huge reunions at the holidays, but then when my grandparents passed, that all stopped. Then in 2008, my Daddy had debilitating strokes and everyone on his side of the family cut ties with us completely. All of our Christmases were quiet during those years. Since my Dad passed away 6 years ago, the holidays have been almost non-existent except for me, my mom, and my brother along with all of our kitties and dogs. I hope things get better for you, but my advice is not to expect them to or hinge your happiness on things changing. Instead, find happiness in what you have. It's not the same as it was, and it never will be again, but there are moments to cherish and the possibility that things will improve. Things haven't improved for us, but I cherish that we still have each other and I find small moments to appreciate.
