I’ve made lifelong friendships in the hobby and it’s full of great, very talented and creative people. I enjoy the building and tuning of sim rigs much more than the actual driving. I even make my living in the industry as a product designer at SimXperience. My Dad, Gary, also raced, 21 Indy 500s and four sprint and dirt car championships in USAC (he passed away just over six years ago).
Todd!! Please encourage these pros any opportunity you get, to come play iRacing with us!! It's so much fun to be in session with one of your heroes. Remind them you just have to dedicate a little bit of time to it to get the cues figured out and really start to enjoy it.

What size and resolution monitors are you running? I’m about to buy triples in the next couple of weeks but there are so many options the more I look the more unsure I get.

Cade Norton if driving in a straight line is easy for you then it’s easy for everyone. But dragster drivers pull some serious Gs, have to have amazing reaction time, and have to know how to minimize wheel spin at the beginning of the race to get a good launch. Honestly it’s not very easy at all
Not bad for a rookie on iRacing. He'll still be at a huge disadvantage to most of the others. And BTW, leader can choose which line he wants on a restart as long as he tells the 2nd place guy.

What's happening here? He's got this crazy ass setup and not throwing in the extra money for a direct drive wheel base, and he has a clutch but he's shifting without it using a sequential shift setup.

Your dad was one of my racing heros. My father raced midgets against him some in the 80s, and he was always a really nice guy to us pit kids.

Want to know why he’s using the sequential? It’s a Fanatec shifter and the 4th gear gate will register 2nd gear about half the time. Junk!
