Street cred is rapidly becoming an inverse score for me - the less it appeals to all the posing tossers out there, the more interested I get!

Beauty and the beast! Good old Deauville, great bike, and lovely Louise, what a combination!

Personally i prefer Cruisers, butvi also do love the Goldwing, however i've been looking on a Deauville now as it is great for both commuting and touring. It would seem this is going to suit my needs for the time being. Sometimes despite how cool cruisers are, it's nice to be able to have a more relaxing trip as well. I think i might just go for this one.

Who gives a crap about "street credibility" for a bike like this? I think it is a great offering from Honda for commuter/light touring. (Even has shaft drive.) What holds me back from buying one is: 1 - I want a bigger engine, say 900cc to produce a lazy 100 bhp. 2 - Leg protection. Why stop the fairing at the knee? (My old Triumph Trophy 900 keeps me dry in the rain. ) 3 - Luggage rack as standard with optional colour coded, locking top box. 4 - Sticking-out turn lights.

Like Louise Herself, The entire package taken together exceeds the superficial number ratings. And 20 years later, still will. Ah, if only I were taller, and younger, (and not a yank).

Shame she never learned how to pronounce the name of the bloody bike! It's not a 'De Vil' it's a Deau (doh) ville (veel) FFS!
