Elbing torps are actually busted because you don’t expect them to be there. It’s like when a hospital in the US sends you a bill 12 months after your stay, you don’t expect it or think you dodged it or it was never launched and suddenly *-BLAM-* sunk just when you thought you were safe
Still, my best death from subs was using Daring. Near the cap, prepare for kiting. Suddenly spotted by subs, hydro already On, I spotted the DD, using DC ubtil the very end, the torps was homing so close, there are no gap, knowing the homing was until 240m. Near 1 km, activate DCP and kiting away to dodge the no gap torp. Then got pinged again by subs, the torps were homing at the last moment and I died. 100% HP was gone. That sure was broken

Getting crosspinged on a DD by a sub-division is also very funny... had this a few times. In a DD: no chance... your repair Party is so fast over, and they just continue pinging you. Was very funny...

The only thing that glued me to this "game", was my clan, nice and funny people, where you can make even a loss into a fun experience. Unfortunatly our Leader took a brake, so after that the only thing was to go into my German CVs and hunt Russian ships. And sometimes play some german BBs. But after my PC didnt worked anymore, I realized that its just feels great to not play it anymore. Like Im free.

i have tried grinding to tier 10 because i thought it was gonna be so much fun but once i got to tier 7 in every line i just gave up the matchmaking hit me hard...
The whole German Anti-Cruiser DD line is trash. Just because Flamu can put lipstick on a pig and make it look good is evidence of Flamu's talent, not that the Elbing is good in the hands of the average WOWS Potatoes. German DD in general are the lease popular DDs in the game. I wonder why.....
I don't know dude, they seem fine to me. You just have to remember that they are not DDs but CLs with a smoke and without a citadel who take up a DD slot and you'll be fine.
The soviets tested rocket assist on their post ww2 tanks to avoid getting stuck in mud. The next patch will have rocket assist russian subs to keep them from getting stuck in water.
On that match-maker. I mean... can you blame cruisers? Nobody wants to play cruisers anymore. They supposed to be jack-of-all-trades, but WG added so much counter to them, that nowadays every class can slap them out of existence. No good armor, no good guns, no AA, and no good ASW. So as long you don't play "cruiser but in reality not a cruiser" like petro... what's the point?

Besides, you have to be hyper careful as one mistake results in an immediate explosion ... they are not fun. That's short, and long story. They are not fun, nor good

Most CLs and CAs get slapped to oblivion by every BB (most tier 10 BBs have 430+ mm guns so they overmatch regular cruiser armor) from anywhere across the map, AA is non-existent in the game so CVs slap them as well, there is really no counter to subs, especially if you play a cruiser with a barrel dispenser and not ASW planes and even a lot of DDs (Kleber, Harugumo, Elbing etc.) outgun you. Non-radar cruisers are a nightmare to play in these conditions. It's not like they can't be played it's just that there is no fun in it at all and you get randomly punished while doing nothing wrong - and most people play games for fun not tactical min-maxing and try-harding.

Cruisers nowadays (on TX) have so much more room to make plays, because there are even less BBs in matches than it used to be when dead eye was a thing. I agree in the point that you have to know your strengths and weaknesses, but this does apply also to every other class and even every ship in the game. Ofc you get punished very quickly in cruisers if you overcomitt because you have no patience. But tbh.. even the punishing factor is nowadays even less of a thing because almost every new cruiser is equipped with ice breakers. And those who have none have outstanding DPM and penetration capabilities.

And you still fail to see the point in my argument - the game should be engaging and satisfying to play and cruisers just aren't. To play effective cruiser you need to grind out every game AND not make any mistakes and that's boring and tedious as fuck so nobody plays them anymore. Yeah, i grinded our a 220k game in a range mod Zao of all things the other day, but it was 20 minutes of running like a bitch and max range HE spam. If you try ANYTHING else, you evaporate instantly. There are more productive ways to spend 20 minutes, like staring at a ceiling for example. Clearer?
Fire/minute is pretty bad, the and the HE does no damage. You lose a ton of damage if you try to start a fire instead of shooting AP. You might just shoot a T10 BB for minutes and get no fires, and even if you get one, it might be DCP'd instantly. It is more or less worthless. The AP pen and angles are so good, you can get away with shooting it at everything anytime.
I'm soooooo agree with yours stands... WOWs is not playable with 2 subs, 4 DDs, a CV in every game... neither from DD, sub, CV point of view in my opinion... needed a limit to their number in MM...
Remember back in the days Ship engagments in WoWS were fun and adrenalin rushing? But fighting against Subs and CVs wich you can't counterplay is depressing and annoying for every surface Ship. In a game wich was based on a rock paper scissors concept, it's like bringing in nuke and black hole.
That is what you get when game is being developed by idiots, who don't understand that 6-7 destroyers/subs per team is not fun. Apparently years of statistical research are required.

when the sub uses the ping to mark you, it should be visible for anyone as well, since the ping gives away its position

My personal favorite joke are Light Cruisers with depth charges instead of ASW planes.
The only way to kill subs with DG CL is to maneuver aggressively and hope you can ram it… So much fun.

Elbing's great. Been trying range mod on it for a laugh and it's decent, but, reload is probably better.
