- In this video I'm going to showcase some less-known or hidden item effects that some people may not know about. The goal is to raise awareness about new item effects introduced in Repentance and to teach newer players about some older ones.

Never though of using "We need to go Deeper" That way Ever in all my 500+ hours of Isaac. Very interesting find...
Maybe because after like 10 hours you realize how useless it is to go to the next floor without killing the boss, even without ever encountering the item
@Juan Rodriguez Yeah, I know why "we need to go deeper" is one of the items that sees least play in the game. pretty useful for Boss Rush/Hush encounter though. Also Skipping your boss as T.lost is not too bad, as The Boss Item pool has a ton of range ups. Yes, you can miss on damage ups, but it's a small price for survival (also The best way to beat T.lost is to pray you get very good synergies, which often happens near the end of the run).
@@ChillstoneBlakeBlast 10% for crawlspaces is kinda bad for 6 charge active item, but it can be used for that as well, can be useful if you get lucky with it

@@art-cs6us pretty great, crawlspace are generally just better curse rooms both in their rewards (occasionally useless but can have good items)
4:16 The Esau Jr. jar break can be easily triggered with the Butter! trinket. Each time you use it to drop the item, it counts as a new copy, so if you drop and then use enough of them, it'll spawn the familiar. Also, a few more things about the familiar:
- It cannot be duplicated by Box of Friends or The Twins
- It persists into the Knife Piece 2 area
- If sacrificed with Sacrificial Altar, it gives you an item like normal, but then immediately respawns
Oh, and some other things:
- Astral Projection has the same interaction with The Lost/Tainted Lost as Berserk!, where picking up a soul heart before the effect ends lets you survive. In both cases, only soul hearts work, so black hearts won't save you.
- Normally, you can't have both the regular and Birthright versions of Book of Belial. However, if you obtain Birthright and Book of Belial as a different character and then change into Judas (through either Judas' Shadow of Clicker), it'll let you keep the regular book while also giving you the Birthright version, allowing you to have both. You can also do it by obtaining Birthright as Judas, then rerolling your active with 'M until it gives you the regular book. (Unfortunately, there's no special effect for having both, it works the same as having just one.)
I wonder, would having book of revelations work too as a source of soul hearts for the lost?

Black hearts avoid holy water creep and magnetizing dogma will cause a special visual effect
Ah yes, the extra glitchy TV effect. Looks like the whole sprite glitched out.
Didn't know Black Hearts fear Holy Creep.
How to they exactly "avoid" it? I was unable to reproduce this effect.
I think the visual effect works with any tear effect. Maybe try all of them just to be sure.

the poop spawned by larry jr has a heavily reduced chance of dropping pickups, this chance will go back to normal if you leave and re-enter the boss room

Parasite can split more than once and it scales with range and damage, the more you have, the more they can split. (use homing shot to check)
that explains why my game crashes like half of the time i use parasite lol
How is that a hidden effect? Have people never payed attention when using the parasite?

I found out in a t forgotten run, that if you use both pinking shears and have intruder and take damage, both issacs head and body disappears, and you are invisible. It sucked during beast fight tho
I did this with Intruder and Hanged Man, also in the Beast Fight.
this can happen with just intruder + transcendence

Vade Retro being able to explode you on death, much like the item itself, is a Nuclear Throne reference! The ability to explode corpses in NT also lets you explode your own on the death screen.
Maybe it has been mentioned, but when you have blood of the martyr and book of belial, it gives you a 1,5 DMG multiplier (I think it is the same multiplier as magic mushroom or cricket's head)
the poop also synergizes with ghost pepper and birds eye!!!
I think getting both deaths touch and sacred heart makes the death face change
Also, using meat cleaver on Gemini actually cuts the cord between Gemini and the baby

This is a nod to a glitch where two actions in code form an endless loop.
It's called Recursion. Here's a example.
Action 1: Perform Action 2.
Action 2: Perform Action 1.
Action 1: Perform Action 2.
*Loop continues*
Action 3: ... Soooo, when's my turn to do a function?
The Code: That's the neat part, you don't.
TBOI breaks this cycle.
? Card: Copy Active Item.
Blank Card: Copy Card Item.
? Card: Copy Act- Wait a minute...

The Poop reflects enemy projectiles in a small radius
Charm effects such as Kidney bean, Pheromones, Betrayal and even charm tears all can very easily kill "???" by charming the eternal flies
- If you have explosions that do little enough damage (min charge Chocolate Milk + Ipecac, probably Soy Milk + Dr. Fetus, etc.), it's possible to actually damage shopkeepers without destroying them.
- With Twisted Pair, if playing with a controller, you can control the width of the two familiars by partially holding the analog stick
With T Jacob if Esau didn't summoned yet you can summon him instantly by using Anima sola on starting room.

Everyone talks about Blurbs, but in fact Tainted Tube Worms also have a unique white sprite, like regular Tube Worms in the Dross. Although tainted variants can't be found in the game anywhere except for the Downpour on the way Home.
not an item effect but a fact: although the mask of infamy boss appears to be flying, it actually takes creep damage
this is also true for the mask of infamy enemies, their sprites are very deceiving.

Essau Jr. Also has an interesting interaction with T Keeper, it gives you no downsides, also gives you free flight.
You keep the coin hearts, you keep the Quad-shot, you gain flight, no negatives.
Getting the Stapler with Tech 2 will make you shoot what I assume are regulal lasers even though you don't have Tech 1, and from the same eye as you're Tech 2 shoots.
Hey! Just found something cool! So IK in one of your vids you said that player spawned orange flames (ex. Red Candle, Bird's Eye) turn Clotty enemies into their flaming counterpart. That's true -- unless they're the wet variant of Clotty seen on floors such as Flooded Caves or Downpour. In these cases, they're damaged as normal! Not really an item thing, more of a lesser known feature in general.
This has completely changed my perspective on Magneto

I recently dealt an instant kill to ultra greedier and i dont know how. I think i turned him into stone for a second and step on him with leo.

@@superwhatevergamin9634 back before repentance update. You can instantly kill him with Little Horn during his transformation into 2nd phase (Solid Gold Form). I laugh so hard when it happened. I was ready and then he died before even attacking me.

Ooh, here's a cool one, sorry if it's been mentioned before, black candle actually cancels the teleporting effect of cursed penny, making it effectively useless, due to that being it's ONLY ability! I really don't know why someone would willingly collect cursed penny though.
What even is the point of that trinket...
if you have broken modem options? and magneto in chest/ dark room : if magneto opens chests that spawned with modem and options? items in that chests will be glitched , magneto should open this chest instantly as they spawned

Probably already know but scissors with the giant bombs that enemies use later on, once they deactivate and you pick them up you can then use giant bombs aswell. Kinda cool
Maybe this is common knowledge, but I just found out about it:
Vade Retro will insta-kill any ghost type enemy, as long as it has half or less of its health remaining. This even works on ghost bosses like Haunt, Forsaken, Heretic and Delirium is he's in a ghost form.
i dont know if it already showed this but if you use book of belial with the 8 inch nails, the nails will have blood at the end of them instead of being clean
This happens with any item that makes your tear red. The nails have their own "red tear" variation.
I dunno if this counts, but you can get infinite stat ups with echo chamber, vurp, and a pill that boosts a stat. I got this with tears up which capped at 5, but I imagine with items that break the cap you could reach the max of 120.

I just found a really cool one in a run i'm in right now! If you have Hemoptysis (tainted Azazel's sneeze item) and Best Friend, when you put the Best Friend down and hit it with the Sneeze it will become magnetized to enemies for some reason and works really well on bosses. I don't know if its a bug or intended.
Another quirk about the berserk/lost combo, black hearts also work for surviving, however eternal and gold hearts will not, gold for obvious reasons, the eternal I assume because lost cannot get red hearts under normal circumstances
Tainted Lazarus's bithright shadow form does not have a speed cap for the time you don't switch between the two of them; this can be seen with bloody gust
Did you know if you have little horn( the devil item that makes your tears have a chance to summon the hand to grab and hit the enemy) you can kill a bomb grimace with it and get a ton of red bombs?

If you encounter Greed or Super Greed in a shop and then pick up Rib of Greed the shop will become a regular one when you re enter it
lil monstro feeds the hungry tears(lachryphagy) which is tbh bad, familiar becomes almost useless
I have a great combo that is super simple. Proptosis+azazel. You can add other stuff too but the damage gets insane
I did know about the Midas touch and sacred one, but not the black poop thing and gigante bean

Hello, i don't know if is intentional or a bug but when you use the Genesis item while you have flames from the Lemegeton item, they disappear but the items remain forever but they don't show in the HUD.
In tainted the forgotten the gnawed leaf let the soul move freely without lose the effect, but if the body shoots you'll lose the effect of the item

I dont know if this has been featured before but if you have a golden key and use the bomb are key pill you lose the golden key and get a golden bomb

NO! replaces all library items with a passive item except for book of virtues because its a passive item
Book of Virtues is a passive item, it can just be used as an active if np other active is held.

The lost has honestly stopped being the "Challange character" sense afterbirth gave him the mantle from the greed machine.
Now i think jecob and esau are more hard and maybe tainted lost (unless you get lucky with good items like birds eye, ghost pepper or lost contact).

Personally I find them one of the easiest character to play as.
I think people simply rush in their runs too much and get themselves killed smh.
@@deoxysandmew2162 Well its either rush to get boss rush (rock bottom), or rush to get Hush (Vanishing Twin I have yet to see in a game for myself).
Plus trap rooms make or break these two for anyone.
@@deoxysandmew2162 People get stuck one time, take damage, call them horrible and never touch them again.
They have a little learning curve, but hardly anyone plays them long enough to use them well enough.
@@schmingbeefin4473 Like it aint hard to pay attention to both of them. And in worst case scenario, always have that CTRL button on steady when you accidently separate. (I use keyboard btw)
There one piece of advice I can give to the players tho, is that DO NOT take flight as them... unless you have both flight items to take. E.g. Revelation + Dead Dove.

It was probably just a coincidence. I tested it personally and it can spawn anywhere.
