    Wow man I counted 10 full seconds where that athlete was completely unconscious while still having the choke applied. Scary stuff, imagine if the Brazilian judoka wasn't such a respectable guy to notice his opponent was out

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  ปีที่แล้ว +14

      It’s actually unbelievable. I think referees should be hands on if a judoka isn’t moving to show consciousness

      @@JudoHighlights2015 I totally agree, they need to be in and up close like MMA refs are when the choke is in like that

      MMA refs shake the hand to test consciousness.
      If you can't tell, go check- nothing wrong with that.

    As a BJJ practitioner I notice how newaza is all offense. Like if a Judoka BEGINS to apply a triangle choke or a gi choke...it's over. LOL. All they have to do is start the technique. In BJJ, the competitors see the chokes coming early and it's TOUGH to get. Love Judo though.

    3:24 almost seems like a belly to belly or Ouchi gari turned uchi mata. Really dynamic throw and his opponent looked weightless for a sec.
    You see more and more take overs. Is it because of a gripping problem that people seem to stand too tall or straight during their entry? A fantastic example of the good way is the uzbeki with the super sharp uchi mata. He closed the distance with a small hop. followed by the powerfull take-over from the Polish guy. Basically a beautiful suplex.

    5:43 you also mentioned nagase does something similar to make his opponents change stance, I'm completely puzzled by it, could you explain maybe how they go about doing it??

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s more than one way to do it. Nagase does it more with dominant gripping I think. Here Beka is subtly circling in that direction

    tai otoshi is a te-waza throw, you dont need throw across the leg to call it as one

    In the 13:40 choke it might even be a place to have a long talk with the referee afterwards. Having a choke that long without the referee stepping in despite the body being limp, really dangerous. On top of that the referee just goes into regular point assessing (or maybe the cut just seemed like it), don't they have some sort of regulation for medic check at that point?
