That's cause in the studio version she recorded it while she was still in rehab and during that time her voice was very injured by her purging and not taking care of herself

Lost the care for that autotunes-rage from some people. I smash LIKE if i LIKE what i hear lol. Autotune doesn't bother me :o it's like saying that using hand-written documents is better in business because it's doesn't involve using a computer which doesn't improve your hand writing xD who cares.

It's actually more like a company putting out a much much cheaper made product and charging the same for it. Their singing is the product they're selling, if they auto-tune to any great degree I only think they can't actually sing very well and it's a cheap product for it. Demi Lovato does not need to auto-tune because she has an amazing voice and can use it well.
Joseph Tucker Well.. I sort of pay for the finished product if I happen to like it. What they do, how they make it doesn't really matter to me if it doesn't hurt anyone or anything.
So the product they are selling is entertainment to me. They just happen to use their voice. Some 50 or 70 or 100% all voice (rest being auto-tune). And if the product is bad... Well good luck getting my money!

I remember the day, years and years ago, 2008, I think, when Camp Rock played on Disney Channel at LEAST twice a week. I loved Demi then, when I was just a wide-eyed six-year-old little girl with no real knowledge of how harsh the world could be. I just remembered loving her voice, wanting to be like her. This Is Me was my favorite song.
When Skyscraper came out in 2011, I was around nine years old, and had already been through a lot. But I still didn't quite understand the message behind this song, not fully anyways. I just knew it was an empowering song, and listening to it made me feel stronger. I was just too young to understand why Demi seemed to suddenly disappear. And when she 'came back' as I said then, I was just as strong of a fan as I was before.
It's 2015 now, and a lot has happened since 2011. I've grown up, I've experienced more than most people my age would even understand. I understand the power and message behind the song. It's flawless, it really is. Skyscraper is part of the main reason I'm still alive and sane.
I'm a Lovatic for life.
This video never gets old. Can watch it over and over. Anyone else? Thumbs up! =)

Man that hurt to hear that note. a whole note below it was f sharp and dang it sounded bad. She obviously didn't mean to sing that note
^Not sure if you're confusing the term "whole note" (referring to duration) with a "whole step" (two semitones below a given note), or if you just said "whole" for emphasis
But in the studio recording she sings a root G, and here she sings an F# which is one semitone below the root and still on the key signature's scale. Perfectly acceptable and nothing about it sounded remotely bad. If anything it added some tastefulness and turned a boring triad into a nice eleventh

+olyvia33 I think Demi is special when she's hitting high notes. Ariana Grande has a more versatile voice with much more better technical control. She has a stunning vibrato and power to spare. Sorry, but if you watch Ariana singing Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" it was an amazing performance. It wasn't perfect by any means, but as much as I love Demi, I don't think she can tackle a Whitney song and do it any justice. Just two different kind of vocalists singing in different ranges with limitations in certain keys. Both great singers, but I don't think Ariana has a girl or cute voice. It has some power to it.
