If my memory serves me right polaris designed them and based them off the ranger . for some reason they are horribly slower though..... tuned way down ?

It is based on Polaris Ranger. Bobcat and Polaris entered into a partnership. Polaris had the sport machine and Bobcat had the worksite machine. Polaris has higher speed, Bobcat has more low-end torque. It is the gear ratio and rear end. The bed capacity, towing capacity and other features of the Bobcat are designed for working on the farm, worksite, municipalities. Also speed of 42 mph and above requires more safety features mandated.

Can the diesel run a PTO

The diesel does not have a PTO. Bobcat had a model 3650 that used to have a front PTO but that is no longer offered.
