Examples: a) Baldness in Human Male : The gene for pattern baldness is influenced by sex hormones. Males may express baldness more frequently than females due to the influence of testosterone. b) Chickens (Feather Color): In some chicken breeds, feather color is influenced by sex of the bird. 3) Useful Mutation : Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, initiated the induction of gamma rays on the wheat variety 'Sharbati Sonora' in the early 1960s. This effort was done to enhance crop improvement and agricultural research in India. Pusa Basmati 1 and Ratna are rice varieties developed through mutation breeding.
