Tight lines for Monday, my friend. Love hearing about the good ole days 70s/80s. Always makes for a real good conversation piece. Everybody's eyes light up and puts smiles back on peoples faces. Wouldn't it be good if you have a meet up with everybody using old school kit and rigs?
great video mate took me back to the good old days we were never in because only thing in the house was a tv with four buttons then when chanel 5 came out we were all screwed had to get a new telly 😂take care buddy not be long 🎣🎣👍
Difficult this time of year especially this year with all the rain coming down the river when the fish that can thrive in brackish water Bass Flounder Eels and Mullet all have somewhere else to be and something else on their mind. Good luck on the pier and hopefully small hook species hunting will get you back in the groove.
Hi Brett, the crab thing was interesting.... think you could be on to something there, I recently had 2 blanks on the pier.... unheard of ! So been going to north norfolk lately and catching much more fish and bigger and no crabs !
Would luv to see a vid of the unholy trinity of bretski and his bait and rig experiments vs Verne and his dodgy hip and dodgy ear swearing about life in general vs Dave Harding in need of a nice cup of tea and a beer ……make it happen , don’t care if you all caught nothing the entertainment would be more then enough.
Folkes skip looks better in summer with those rays on your shades. 😎. Unlucky but it’ll pick up there even under ther bridge or casting to the shadow off the bridge. Nice day in the fresh air.
Not so sure about sweetcorn where you were mate !!! but when I was younger we used to fish from the Lawn Avenue allotments bend up to where the crisp factory used to be, ( up to where Bure Park is now) we bagged up on Flounders and Eels, also when the tide slacked off we got Mullet on the Bure Park bend, That is a few minutes up the river from where you are though, We used mainly garden lob worms and harbour wriggler worms. I have caught some nice big Roach a bit further up towards Stacey Arms, but it is largely salt water where you are mate, but you can catch a bass and flounder anywhere along the river there in a few months time. Good luck on Monday.
We used to fish along their and always got some big Eels along with Pounting and Flounders, the river was prolific, My father used to have a trap which you baited threw in and it would spring shut capturing and fish on retrieve. I can’t remember catching any crabs or Whiting in the river. Everything has gone to shite I’m afraid….
Nice video mate, at least you had a go. I used to catch loads of flounders and eels in my local river along side with roach and trout, mostly using garden worms and that was just brackish water. Looking forward to the next video on the pier.
Great video as always dispite the blank. Great memories 70s 80s kids the best times socialising together. I will be out monday but avoiding gorleston like the plague. Probably north beach. A few dogs and rays coming out. Tight lines mate
@@brettsfishingdiaries i think you were spot on regarding the green crabs invasion and lack of fish. No natural preditors. Seem to be multiplying every year
Lovely theory Professor Blankski, but…. I reckon it’s just still been too warm… Not had that prolonged cold snap, weeks of below zero…. Anyway, another good vid bud, onto the next (which is ready and waiting), which looks more productive….👍🏻
I have a similar theory about the Mersey,it’s that when we have a lot of rain and land run off the salt water fish move into deep water and the fishing drops off, but you can catch flounder and dabs in brackish water, TLCM Brett
Eazy Brett you ok pal, sounds like you could of lived at our gaff as a kid as everything dead the same hahahaha. I was born 72. Love the show mate. All the best from GRIMSBY
@@brettsfishingdiaries i new we were brothers hahahaha. Like you said when I got my first t.v black n white with the turn nob in my BEDROOM WOW BRETT it was amazing wan it hahaha. Would love a meet up.
Hi Brett the reason there's no fish too much fresh water coming down the rivers it's pushed the fish out to sea beaches away from rivers are producing fish enjoy the banter
Keep to small hooks m8 this time of year small baits there should be a few fish turning up back in the river soon plenty on the beachs but I should say the river has to much fresh water in it as for the crabs most fish in the sea eats them bass and cod love baby hard backs
When you catch that bass and do your cook up you will find hard back crabs in its stomach contents, when i bring bass home for the table almost all have them have crabs in their gut.

Sewage makes algae and crabs alger so more crabs and no fish😢
Giant marmots are not naturally attracted to fish. They are omnivores. see it's eyes light up when it saw the sweet corn and bread.
