The fact that you can see how in sync she is with the before even after lowering her energy just proves that it was not about being in sync with others but just pure hate. I believe the only person who's doing justice to the choreo is Ahyeon before and after both..
The thing I worry so much about this is that, people express themselves differently, and people approach art differently. She obviously approaches it with passion and emotion. Now that she's changed to be more controlled and conscious of everything she does, I'm afraid she'll fall out of love for something she's just so amazing at. I hope that doesn't happen.
I’m not a fan, but the before is much more engaging. There were a couple movements that were too aggressive but overall really good performance and not deserving of the amount of criticism she got. The after isn’t entertaining because her movements lack power and she is looking down the majority of the time. I wish people would just keep the negativity to themselves, she’s too young and new at this to be getting such nit-picky critiques.
I mean you say that but even YG himself told her to tone down her dancing. Yes she’s a good dancer, but that energy should be reserved for songs like sheesh. Forever has a more toned down choreography. Plus she makes the group look sloppy with her over dancing.
The before has more energy but is messy. She’s doing very tight movements then exploding like almost popping . The issue is it doesn’t look clean and together. All she needed to do was take it down like 10% instead she took it down 50%. In the afternoon she is way more in sync but looks weak. She can still have energy but control her movements
Here is my opinion. In "Forever" you require elegance. Not energy. In "Sheesh" and "Drip" those need energy. In "Like That" it requires a balance of energy and elegance. She just has to learn that different dances have different music and require different balances of energy and elegance or boldness. Once she understands and learns this, she'll become a better dancer and possibly recieve less hate if those haters just quit sticking their nose into everything and stop breathing down her neck and over-analyzing her every move.
I think your opinion can apply to her singing too. I feel like she also has trouble conveying different emotions and feelings while singing. She is very young and also a rookie, so she has plenty of time to improve 😊

If she keeps doing these high notes, she might strain her voice. Not to mention that she might not even have the proper training/technique to do high notes without straining her voice. I love Ahyeon, but I'm simply saying this to help her.
What this illustrates is that there was nothing wrong with her dancing before. People online literally made it sound like she was going crazy on stage. Just calm down, stop trying to control every idol from all your favorite groups. That's what it's really about, control.

She is a very strong vocalist but her tone is very strange (in an unflattering way) If the song has multiple high notes or vocal runs she would shine but a vocalist can't have that all the time. Her stage presence was awkward not over performing, she lacked control before. Lisa is the strongest in her Generation as a member + solo yet she actually can control her movement not to feel awkward. The criticism was valid. Now ahyeon is improving so much. When she was dancing energetically , she was ruining the group dynamics wasn't being sync to group , then yg told her to not to dance to much hard , you have to mathc the group tone also , her energetic dance is good for solo , but she is in a group therefore she had to tone down to sync the group, before and after both were best , but she is still just 17 yo girl , she will obv improve by time ❤
I don’t really know this group and saw the controversy on TikTok. I had to go watch the full fan cam and in the one I saw she was very much in synch with them. Some moves were done slightly aggressive but it was still very much in time with the others. She even slowed down perfectly in the first one where she was supposed to. Honestly I think she just really liked the song and those particular parts and maybe that’s why she was dancing so energetically. You can tell she was really having fun and enjoying herself that first one. She seems like she’s trying to be more careful and ain’t having as much fun in the that second one. If someone enjoys dancing you shouldn’t take the joy out of it by saying they stand out too much. All they needed to do is tell her to slow up a bit on some points but keep the same energetic energy.

The company needs to teach her how to match the tone of songs. There were certain aspects of the dance in both that were good and bad. In the beginning the hip on before was way better but the arm movements were too sharp. The arm swerve was better in the after. But her energy went from 200% to 30%. I feel like it’s as if she can’t be sharp so she has to be lazy and that is a terrible way to go. No blame to her bcuz obviously they debuted not too long ago but whoever trains her needs to do better. It’s about matching the song. The song is upbeat in the middle and she wasn’t giving enough in the after but was giving just enough and a little more in the before. But the slow parts and the beginning were too much in the before and almost perfect in the after. It’s about balance and I feel like in kpop there are a LOT of one dimensional dancers. It’s not just Ahyeon. Momo (I haven’t seen any of their recent stuff in basing this on the past) was someone who put too much energy into songs that didn’t need it and Karina also did it a lot in GOT the beat. It’s not that she did too much energy it’s just that her movements would be too sharp and wouldn’t match the tone of the songs. A lot of idols don’t have as much control as fans make it out to be or they can only do one style which is fine but limits them when kpop companies give them different styles of songs. This song was a bit different from sheesh and I feel like it was harder for her. But I def think we should stop blaming her perse because they ARE still new and they learn choreography from SOMEONE ELSE, so whoever is monitoring them is doing her a big disservice

I think i like the before more. Each member should be able to perform the song in their own way. Like in twice, mina, jihyo and sana all have different style and energy execution. Thats their charm, by making everyone performing on the same understanding of a song, you end up with no one standing out. I mean no one in aeapa perform with sass like NN and that her charm.

She seems to be trying to draw both positive and negative attention to herself by giving much more compared to the group (before), or too little (after). Totally agree and it's weird to me how everybody's falling for it. The haters are wrong but the people that gave constructive criticism are correct. In the before she's clearly overdancing and in the after (and the many videos that have come out showing her being distant or not trying anymore) she's underdancing. I personally think that she's better in the before compared to after, but it's so annoying to see this after behavior being so forced. From past videos I think in interviews she was always timid and shy, so it's ok if she's not very interactive, but when it comes to performances I 100% agree with you that it looks deliberate. It's very very unprofessional.

You K-pop fans are mad weird. This why I had to walk away and just be a casual listener after 9 plus years being into it. She started dancing more lazy as some of you are now saying because she was afraid of making a mistake and not too much. You can tell she’s less energetic in the second one and isn’t having as much fun. If you DON’T want your favs to outshine you better tell them to step it up. Never had these types of bullshit issues during the second generation and third generation times. K-pop idols were allowed to appear to be standing out with moves and stuff. They aren’t supposed to look like one super unit and exactly the same. As long as they are dancing in rhythm with each other that should be all that matters. Those other girls need to bring forth more energy and their personalities. Personally to me it looked like everyone had their own personalities going on. Your comment comes from someone who knows nothing about dance. She has incredible dynamic energy but when you're in any group dance, the dance has to look cohesive. Yes, the other members could try to match her energy before, but realistically she is overdancing. Overdancing is just as bad as underdancing (if not worse) as it looks less clean, more stiff and in general has less groove or precision. Her new dance style has more groove which helps make her transitions smoother. She matches the others so that the dance looks consistent among all the members. Just because she's using less dynamic energy does not mean she's being lazy. Also, the people who didn't like her overdancing are not the people complaining that she's lazy. The people who liked her overdancing are the ones saying that. There's two different opinions floating around. It's hard to tell if she isn't enjoying dancing as much in the second one because her company told her to just use less energy when executing moves and that also means her facial expressions. Her facial expressions are fun in the first one but that much character on a stage performance might have been seen as overdoing it/cartoonish by the company. Also, as a fellow second and third gen stan, Jennie from BP was called out for underdancing so that's an example for a third gen group. And second and third gen had many more problems that were far greater back in the day like exploitation of idols and slave contracts were not addressed that much back then and every idol was being called fat and bullied for being like 55kg. All the groups had to get plastic surgery cause they were "ugly" like you are being nostalgic of the good parts of second and third gen and ignoring the severe issues that occured back then. I feel like an idol getting criticised for overdancing is very minimal compared to second gen idols being driven to commit su*c*de. Rhythm is not gonna matter if one member sticks out like a sore thumb. This is something that all professional dancers need to understand. Dancing groups are essentially a team and the performance will not work if one person doesn't stick with the others in the team and goes off on their own. Just because you have to match the energy of your fellow dancemates doesn't mean you have to sacrifice all your individuality though, that's just what people think cause they know nothing about dance. She should change (not for the sake of fans) but for the sake of learning how to become a better dancer and hone her skills. These techniques of managing and controlling your energy separate the people who try to dance from professional dancers. She's already talented, being good at popping, sharpness and having a lot of energy, now it's just about refining those skills.

I'm fairly new on the Babymonster train. What exactly happened? I know that some people criticize her for her voice but that's not the point of this video is it?
It's about over performing As you can see in the before fancam she is over dancing and her expressions are exaggerated she is not in synce with the group fans defend her by saying this is how a performance should be but this is not right. She can dance energetically like fellow members Rami and ruka while being in synce and on beat . Forver is not a type of song where you need lip bites she needs to execute her expressions well that was what is it about fans criticized her because of this I know she is not trying to outshine her members but it seems like it that's why she got hate for example her performance can be compared to Asa who gives us enough of everything while ahyeon overdoes it . fans would say over is better than under but it's not a performer must be well executed

When she was dancing energetically , she was ruining the group dynamics wasn't being sync to group , then yg told her to not to dance to much hard , you have to mathc the group tone also , her energetic dance is good for solo , but she is in a group therefore she had to tone down to sync the group, before and after both were best , but she is still just 17 yo girl , she will obv improve by time ❤
I don’t really know this group and saw the controversy on TikTok. I had to go watch the full fan cam and in the one I saw she was very much in synch with them. Some moves were done slightly aggressive but it was still very much in time with the others. She even slowed down perfectly in the first one where she was supposed to. Honestly I think she just really liked the song and those particular parts and maybe that’s why she was dancing so energetically. You can tell she was really having fun and enjoying herself that first one. She seems like she’s trying to be more careful and ain’t having as much fun in the that second one. If someone enjoys dancing you shouldn’t take the joy out of it by saying they stand out too much. All they needed to do is tell her to slow up a bit on some points but keep the same energetic energy.

The company needs to teach her how to match the tone of songs. There were certain aspects of the dance in both that were good and bad. In the beginning the hip on before was way better but the arm movements were too sharp. The arm swerve was better in the after. But her energy went from 200% to 30%. I feel like it’s as if she can’t be sharp so she has to be lazy and that is a terrible way to go. No blame to her bcuz obviously they debuted not too long ago but whoever trains her needs to do better. It’s about matching the song. The song is upbeat in the middle and she wasn’t giving enough in the after but was giving just enough and a little more in the before. But the slow parts and the beginning were too much in the before and almost perfect in the after. It’s about balance and I feel like in kpop there are a LOT of one dimensional dancers. It’s not just Ahyeon. Momo (I haven’t seen any of their recent stuff in basing this on the past) was someone who put too much energy into songs that didn’t need it and Karina also did it a lot in GOT the beat. It’s not that she did too much energy it’s just that her movements would be too sharp and wouldn’t match the tone of the songs. A lot of idols don’t have as much control as fans make it out to be or they can only do one style which is fine but limits them when kpop companies give them different styles of songs. This song was a bit different from sheesh and I feel like it was harder for her. But I def think we should stop blaming her perse because they ARE still new and they learn choreography from SOMEONE ELSE, so whoever is monitoring them is doing her a big disservice

I think i like the before more. Each member should be able to perform the song in their own way. Like in twice, mina, jihyo and sana all have different style and energy execution. Thats their charm, by making everyone performing on the same understanding of a song, you end up with no one standing out. I mean no one in aeapa perform with sass like NN and that her charm.

In multiple recent group interviews, she’s in a very sombre mood and not interacting with the other members… but it looks deliberate, as if to say “look what you’ve done to me”
Totally agree and it's weird to me how everybody's falling for it. The haters are wrong but the people that gave constructive criticism are correct. In the before she's clearly overdancing and in the after (and the many videos that have come out showing her being distant or not trying anymore) she's underdancing.
I personally think that she's better in the before compared to after, but it's so annoying to see this after behavior being so forced. From past videos I think in interviews she was always timid and shy, so it's ok if she's not very interactive, but when it comes to performances I 100% agree with you that it looks deliberate. It's very very unprofessional.

You K-pop fans are mad weird. This why I had to walk away and just be a casual listener after 9 plus years being into it. She started dancing more lazy as some of you are now saying because she was afraid of making a mistake and not too much. You can tell she’s less energetic in the second one and isn’t having as much fun. If you DON’T want your favs to outshine you better tell them to step it up. Never had these types of bullshit issues during the second generation and third generation times. K-pop idols were allowed to appear to be standing out with moves and stuff. They aren’t supposed to look like one super unit and exactly the same. As long as they are dancing in rhythm with each other that should be all that matters. Those other girls need to bring forth more energy and their personalities. Personally to me it looked like everyone had their own personalities going on. Shouldn’t be forced to change for the sake of fans. SMH
Lo que pasó y sin querer tirar hate a ahyeon es que ella en las presentaciones empezó a "sobre energizar" y sobre exagerar sus movimientos y baile, lo que en un grupo es medio malo, ya que la que está en medio es la que deberia llamar la atención y no la que está en la esquina esperando a que le toque y en el kpop eso esperan en el grupo, ahora sí fuera solista está bien, pero ella esta en un grupo y aunque todas tengan un estilo al bailar es un grupo no una solista, además que en el detras de escena de los M/V's el ceo de YG ya le dijo que le bajara un nivel su energía ya que hacia ver sus movimientos y expresiones muy exagerados y ella se lo tomó bien, ahora en las últimas presentaciones baila al 0% y canta solo lo que debe cantar y eso es no profesionalismo. Entiendo que ella tiene 17 años y que muchas personas le tiraron hate pero ella es una idol y lo mínimo que esperamos como fans o personas que la seguimos es que tenga un comportamiento más profesional y tomar las críticas (no el hate) y ocuparlo a beneficio de ella. Your comment comes from someone who knows nothing about dance. She has incredible dynamic energy but when you're in any group dance, the dance has to look cohesive. Yes, the other members could try to match her energy before, but realistically she is overdancing. Overdancing is just as bad as underdancing (if not worse) as it looks less clean, more stiff and in general has less groove or precision. Her new dance style has more groove which helps make her transitions smoother. She matches the others so that the dance looks consistent among all the members. Just because she's using less dynamic energy does not mean she's being lazy.
Also, the people who didn't like her overdancing are not the people complaining that she's lazy. The people who liked her overdancing are the ones saying that. There's two different opinions floating around. It's hard to tell if she isn't enjoying dancing as much in the second one because her company told her to just use less energy when executing moves and that also means her facial expressions. Her facial expressions are fun in the first one but that much character on a stage performance might have been seen as overdoing it/cartoonish by the company.
Also, as a fellow second and third gen stan, Jennie from BP was called out for underdancing so that's an example for a third gen group. And second and third gen had many more problems that were far greater back in the day like exploitation of idols and slave contracts were not addressed that much back then and every idol was being called fat and bullied for being like 55kg. All the groups had to get plastic surgery cause they were "ugly" like you are being nostalgic of the good parts of second and third gen and ignoring the severe issues that occured back then. I feel like an idol getting criticised for overdancing is very minimal compared to second gen idols being driven to commit su*c*de.
Rhythm is not gonna matter if one member sticks out like a sore thumb. This is something that all professional dancers need to understand. Dancing groups are essentially a team and the performance will not work if one person doesn't stick with the others in the team and goes off on their own. Just because you have to match the energy of your fellow dancemates doesn't mean you have to sacrifice all your individuality though, that's just what people think cause they know nothing about dance. She should change (not for the sake of fans) but for the sake of learning how to become a better dancer and hone her skills. These techniques of managing and controlling your energy separate the people who try to dance from professional dancers. She's already talented, being good at popping, sharpness and having a lot of energy, now it's just about refining those skills.
