  • A look at the newly renamed Mercedes GLE. This is the old M-Class with some great new features and more refinement than ever. Thanks to Lonestar Mercedes-Benz in Calgary for setting us up with the test vehicle this week.

I think Mercedes made that awkward system so the rear seats can fold perfectly flat. If they were conventional, I think there would be a slope. Great review! Subbed!

That is true with rear facing car seat. I had to move the baby car seat on the passenger side. Being 5’11 I could not slide my seat back. I have a 2016 GLE400. I also had a 2004 CLK500 coupe with a rear facing car seat.

Your canadian options make so much more sense, to get all that safety tech in the US you have to get the premium 3 package which ends up costing around 8k usd.

Thanks for doing a decibel meter test for the interior cabin during the drive. That's rarely done on these car reviews and is really important to me! Cheers, Jarno

Please do a review of the Range Rover 2017 autobiography or better yet sv autobiography. It is best luxury Suv in the market for sure.

Do you know if a rear facing car seat will fit in the middle seat in the second row?

+Andrew Cho I didn't test if one would, Andrew. Although I imagine it wouldn't be a problem. But both the driver and passenger seats would have to slide forward to make room.

Yes, they do. And real ones are smaller and fit even with the front seats put as far back as needed. Not sure what was done here with the seat put in the other way around, fits all nice and easy in my experience.

The way the backseats fold up is a huge benefit if you're a dog owner. There is no gap for them to fall thru and it is perfectly flat. This is the only reason I keep buying MB SUVs because it is the only SUV that does this.

I'll rather the RX, but i do love the fact you can get massaging seats with this. The RX i'm not sure has that as an option.

Personally, I would not. But TDIs are currently available in our market.

Just curious, are the massaging seats at all distracting when driving? Great video again.

+Egan Fo I don't think so, Egan. One interesting function, though... they shut off automatically after around ten minutes so you can't have them on permanently.

Best ever seats? Are you serious? I've just got a 2018 GLE 350 as a courtesy car and the seats are very average and feel like rubber. You sit on them rather than in them, very much like many German cars. Try sitting in a Honda Accord (7th or 8th Gen) or a CRV 3rd Gen. Now they have amazing seats.

It can be subjective. Best seats I've been in was in a BMW E60 550i with the M Sport seats. 4th Gen Acura TL seats are great too. Mercedes seats are firm and initially it may seem like they're not comfortable but you'll notice even after 4 or 5 hours of driving you won't ever feel any pressure points so that firmness and shape serves a purpose.

Wrong Latin.. GLE 400 4matic is 2000 percent better than Q7, F pace and Levar!!. i have driven all 3 in manhattan.. 400 4matic and GLE 63 4matic kills the Q7 and puts it to shame!!

Looks are subjective. The Audi has an ugly gigantic grill. Plus, it's an Audi.
