Me and my son go to every home game. And we sit in the South end zone in the handicap area. And my son Jackson sits by my side. Screaming, yelling and celebrating and I wish I could do the same thing. But unfortunately, I can't because of my lung disease. I have to have a Portable breathing machine with me at all times and my son is a little kid, and he just wanted me to tell you guys that he loved you guys, and he wanted me to say also that you guys are definitely without a doubt the best defensive team he has ever seen. Well, hes only 12 years old lol And anyways BOOMER SOONER

So the fans wasn't the only ones that wanted Danny to be the next Teddy? Honestly I'm glad that Danny got his own number. Funny story..... Speaking of jersey numbers? my Lil brother had one of the first Jaren Kanak jerseys before JK ever stepped foot on campus. It was actually a Spencer rattler Jersey that he paid a lot of money for.... He was able to change the number and name if that player left or got benched. He asked me if he should just change the name to Evers or Kanak. I told him Kanak will get on the field a lot as a true freshman and be OUr starter within 2 yrs.... Evers will always be a backup and will transfer within 2 yrs. Luckily he made the right decision and put Kanak on the jersey

I LOVE THIS - so glad Jaren is OK. AND what's really interesting to me is to see how the growth has taken place in Danny. We don't always see the growth in ourselves because we're too busy working. BUT it's VERY obvious Danny's level of awareness, skill and presence has gone through the roof!!
It reminds me of a time many years ago.....I had been working in a VERY aggressive and VERY hard business. The standards for work were beyond anything I'd ever experienced before and I was totally overwhelmed but just kept working my butt off. For years it felt like I just kept having to push myself harder and harder and I never really felt like I was keeping up. I was barely treading water, let alone swimming.
Then I took a night class at a local University and I was stunned by how little work all the students actually did. I came to a team meeting with all these documents typed up, printed up and provided for the whole team and they all looked at me like I had 3 heads. I was like "What?" and they said....."Dude, this is amazing! Thank you!" and after talking with them, what was "normal" for me, was so far beyond what they had ever experienced it really blew their minds.
It was then that I realized how far I'd come, how much I'd grown and how different "normal" was for me. I see a similar level of growth from Danny and I can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds!! What an exciting time to be a Sooner!!

100%. OU fans can be so unrealistic with their expectations. The coaches are hired to win games. How do you do that? You play the best players and the coaches are the ones who see practice and what goes on behind the scenes so to speak. They know who their best players at this moment in time, are. Sawchuk and Barnes will get their chances as will Smothers and Hicks when their time comes. Both Sawchuk and Barnes are coming off injuries and Barnes especially, had a foot injury which takes forever to heal and for you to be able to trust your body (have had multiple foot injuries myself). They'll get back to form, but remember too, Sawchuk didn't see the field hardly at all until the bowl game. He was hurt last year too so I just hope he's not another player with a body made of glass.

I personally think the all crimson look is ugly. I'm pretty surprised some people actually like that look.
I love the crimson wood grain design. Not speaking of the overall uniform pattern, but specifically the wood grain.
People were clamoring for black uniforms, and they finally got them.. Those look nice too, except that the numbers are nearly impossible to see on TV. And I personally don't like the "Unity" in place of all the names. Not being able to see the numbers and names make it hard for both me and the commentators to figure out who's on the field.

No all reds, please. Teams use too much all-same color unis these days and it doesn't look good on TV. Grays are bad too as it is hard to see the numbers.

I have loved OU football since I first started following them in 1967. Good or bad, will always be a true BOOMER SOONER in Louisiana. Love this podcast, and so thankful Brayden is a 49er. It is so encouraging to see the improvement and selfless play on the defense this year. Watching them this past weekend was something special. Was concerned for Jaren, and thankful it want keep him off the field. Both these guys are special and intricate parts of an ever improving defense.

I think that you could attest that OU would have been in a much worse spot last year if DG hadnt came to OU.
Im proud of this team just like I was proud of the team last year. Everything that has been done from the second that other coach walked out the door is leading to greatness and its a big picture thing not a what have you done for me this very minute thing. #BoomerSooner4ever

I'm envious of how enthusiastic their fans in that stadium was, to create a loud atmosphere.. Our stadium can get loud, but a lot of times if seems like it lacks that enthusiasm and energy on TV.
And for a 40k seat stadium, Cincinnati's place did look pretty nice and unique.
