Honestly I don't know what NMJ was expecting of JGY to do when it came to Xue Yang. I highly doubt that JGS would listen to his legitimate son if he was alive. He does what he wants.
@@LittleApple256 Like he wouldn't tolerate someone going behind his back and questioning his decisions as sect leader, and here he is telling JGY to do it! He may be right about Xue Yang, but do it yourself! Hire someone to do it! Just cut out the middle man that has no power!
@@shaneyzamora2525 It's like going up to an employee and demanding that they fire their colleague when the manager isn't doing it. NMJ is worse than a Karen in that sense😂. It's interesting that he told Meng Yao to confess murdering the Jin commander to JGS though. He clearly understands how treating JGY like his own disciple would have been wrong. I guess he thought being sworn brothers gave him the authority to "set JGY on the right path", the book even compared it to NMJ's feelings towards NHS, yet I'm 100% sure he wouldn't hold NHS responsible for what he had no power over. He was mad at JGY for even giving gifts to NHS, imagine if JGY had told NHS to go against NMJ's direct orders and kill someone (or else). Also, NMJ almost killed XY himself, he had his saber against XY's throat but trusted JGS when he said he would execute XY. I guess I have the hindsight of knowing what happened but that seems a little too trusting of NMJ. Why would JGS stop NMJ from killing XY only to execute him later anyway? Maybe he realized that it wouldn't be very politically wise of him and decided to bully JGY into doing it instead because clearly nobody in the Jin sect cared about him 🙄.
Ngl if someone threw me out so easier and betrayed me like Mingjue did in Meng Yap’s eyes and I could get away killing him, can’t say id be any better. Meng Yao had nothing his mother? Dead. Was given a Recommendation for his father? His father sent him to die under the command of another who stole his ideas and treated him like crap. Was told by Mingjue to admit to his father his sins which would’ve led to his death, the only way he could survive was desert and be on the run or go undercover with Wen Ruohan both putting his life at risk. Not saying they were the right choices but Mingjue’s constant black or white morals led to him berating Huaisang, demonizing Wei Wuxian, and putting Meng Yao in harms way. Then hurting him and blaming him for what JGS decided to do with Xue Yang which Meng Yao couldn’t have told his father no or stopped him. Yeah I’d be fed up with Mingjue, can’t say I’d act differently towards him ngl, if I was consistently shown that no one is in my corner, no one will love or protect me, everyone will betray me.
Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue is definitely such a fascinating and tragic brotherhood that feels like it was doomed before it ever began - it's even more terrifying when you consider how THIS relationship going wrong was the basis for like... almost everything in the post time skip of the series 😮 Amazing work and editing!!!! ❤ ⭐ ❤ BTW, if you recall, do you know what episode it is when they become sworn brothers? Yeah, NMJ straight up wanted JGY to kill XY behind JGS's back. He didn't think about the consequences JGY would face though.
