TRIP REPORT | AirAsia AK6187: Miri MYY ✈ Kuching Int'l KCH | 1st Flight During RMCO

It has been 5 months since I last travelled, and 6 months since I last posted anything. Finally, this is my first trip after the Government of Malaysia relaxed the country's movement control order (MCO).
This trip was flown during the recovery MCO (RMCO), when the COVID-19 cases in the country had started to flatten. Cases in Sarawak, especially in Kuching, reportedly increased during that period of time however, which some people dubbed The Second Wave.
Nonetheless, I travelled to Kuching to get some errands done, but everything went haywire after this flight. But for now, please enjoy this week's trip report!

Nice one! Nowadays there's only one flight daily to/from KCH since the Kuching EMCO. Before that it was at least 3x daily. KUL flights have been heavily reduced to just once or twice a week. SIN JHB and BKI flights by AK have been suspended. My regular 'customers' are Maswings, Weststar and other non-scheduled traffic. Our daily movement has gone from pre-covid average of 120 movements a day to as low as 48 nowadays. Sad times we live in.
Thanks for watching my video! Thank you for the first hand observations from the local aviation sector as well. Sad times indeed! MYY didn't fare better either, didn't see much traffic. The only KUL connection is by 1x daily AK, MH didn't ramp up their service. MH's KCH-MYY sector still suspended. Prospect is bleak at the moment...
Absolutely beautiful departure. This flight reminds me of going over to Miri for Christmas or CNY. Sadly that's not possible this year and next year :^( anyways nice trip report, hope to see the next one
