Tbh his new music is pretty Mid. He has such a pleasant voice, but he keeps making the same records over and over again recently. Listen to “Be” or “DSN” or “allure” then listen to this. I think it’s also the production. When things sound too polished and compressed, it loses its raw feeling.
Music isn’t mid but it definitely isn’t as good as it used to be. Loved Brent’s more raw emotional songs off Sonder Son but his sound has changed into something a lot smoother and lacking the sensuality of his older music. Its a good change from a technical point of view because the music is more complex but if you’re a fan of his old songs, you’re not really getting much of the vibe that made his music so impactful in the first place anymore.

I’ve liked Brent’s music since he went as Loki and rapped on SoundCloud. I’ve literally seen him develop as an artist through his development through sonder and so forth.
