Where is the foster mare's own foal?

It was old enough to wean. The mare was still in milk and was given the rejected foal to raise.

@Bonny D. You would have to do a search for the video but there is one on YT that was done last year showing the hormonal treatment with vets explaining how they do it at their equine clinic out in California. There was a foal by California Chrome that lost the mum to colic. They took an older retired broodmare, gave her the injections, introduced her to the foal, boom!, the foal was nursing her shortly after that and the mare was quite happy with the situation. It is a little hard to hear all that the vets were saying while they were working with the mare but I gather via trial and error they figured out if they gave a mare the hormone injections and brought a foal to her, the mare wouldn't be all that receptive. But if they brought a foal to her, THEN TOOK THE FOAL OUT OF HER SIGHT, the mare would go crazy calling for the foal as if it were her own. That's what they did with the mare they had on the video and the Chrome foal. The mare went nuts when they took the foal away and was all maternal when they brought the foal back. Very interesting video. Can't remember the title but it should be easy to find.

@@MrDerynryan If you watch Part 2 on this foster foal you will discover that the foster mare had foaled in January and had been raising her own foal, which was weaned at four/five months - normal time to wean domestic horse foals - and the mare was used as a foster on the TB foal. The mare had produced a filly which was sent to another Godolphin stud farm and joined one of their herds at the new farm while mum stayed behind to take over the TB foal.
I know that news will be a huge disappointment to you as you want to peddle your propaganda against people who own horses, but on this case you flubbed up big time. TRUTH 1/SMART ASS 0, you lose.
