I remember growing up watching my dad play through all the c&c series for countless hours, I'd sit on his lap and help coordinate attacks and strategies. Brings back some memories that's for sure.

It's sad that they did not finish Generals 2. There was Act of Aggression which could have been a good remaster edition of this old game. Unfortunately it didn't turn out to be that good.
If they made remasters of red alert 2, generals, and renegade, EVERY SINGLE COMMAND AND CONQUER FAN WOULD BE HAPPY.

It's rare to see you build so much base defense-you often play an entire game without a single base defense structure. In this game, it seems almost unavoidable. I love how you increase cash flow so quickly.

Why would you not build so much base defense if you had 7 hard enemies
Well, most of the time he actually doesn't, even against 7 hard armies. You can see this i many of his videos, almost all GLA and China vids (For instance: Stealth GLA vs 7 Hard armies subscriber special.)) This is because one has to rely mainly on troops for a succesful match against 7 hard armies, as a collaboral attack from all of those, with a constant stream of supplies which far outnumbers yours will eventually push through anyhow. So, troops it is. Tactical advantage making etc.
Probably the hardest challenge in skirmish on Command & Conquer : Generals - Zero Hour is to play with China Infantry ( General Fai ) against 7 hard GLA Toxic ( Doctor Trax ) , even on Death Valley , which is map where player have higher chances because of big amount of supplies near base , and than try to win that game without " Fortified Bunker " and " Gattling Cannon " , almost impossible .
@@nordzlopez3239Because in almost all cases, it's better to use those resources to build active units that can attack and defend. Being aggressive is the best way to stop your enemy before he can even get to your base, and it keeps your enemies from expanding. Personally, I am a slow, lazy player, and I've never learned to be quick and aggressive, so I tend to build a lot of base defense, but this is a very poor way to play.
Man, you have no idea how happy I am watching your video, kind of redundant to say, but it brings me a lot of memory back then. Playing this together with my brothers/friends countless hours.

One thing I realized after playing with the Laser General that its defenses are insanely powerful, especially if used with the Avenger against smaller rockets. The fact that each laser tank uses one unit of energy and thus you need to feed them with power plants surprised me tho, when I lost power just by building tanks.
Laser General probably is the most insanely powerful General to use when camping. Several shots and the enemy tank, even the Overlord, enemy down.
Yes its the ultimate for turtle gameplay. It makes the superweapon general look like a pussy. Infantry general is also very good with the fortified bunkers that house 10 infantry but it requres a little more time and effort to build ur defense up

Very impressive playing. Most people just bunker up and then go one at a time, or just build none stop super weapons. Was entertaining the whole match, bravo on not using a single particle cannon.
thank you very much ! I find it boring to watch someone bunker himself in. More Action = more fun to watch. Also superweapons are boring to watch, too. That's why I almost never build them, even if it costs me the game in the end or drags the game on for 40 more minutes

It went well when I just buyed super weapons. (I was using unlimited super weapon at options)
when they build super weapon i destroy their super weapon

I never get how people get to this level of competence at games like these. The micromanaging must be near flawless.

Well done!How do you avoid lagg? Whenevr I play with more than 3 enemies (good specs on my PC), the game starts lagging like it's nobody's business. Really annoying.
Game speed. Everyone tries to play the game at max game speed which kills the game speed barely 5-10 mins into a skirmish. Reduce the game speed to 1/2 and enjoy a smoother rate throught your whole play session. besides, you can make better choices and give more commands to your troops. The game clock slows down as well.
I am playing this game for 15 years. It well works with Core 2 due CPU s. Do not run it on i3. i5 or i7
I use process explorer (sysinternals.com) to set the game's process affinity to a single CPU core. Anecdotally it seems to help prevent crashes, but some combinations of enemies just cause crashes (eg. I'd love to have superweapon vs 7 infantries, but that's a recipe for a crash in the first 20 minutes).
Excellent gameplay, much better than I could have managed.

honestly, he put down that first building and started expanding his base before i'd even get my bearrings and know what do plop down.
In the start during the loading screen I pressed d for dozer. This starts building a second dozer the second the match starts. For GLA press k for worker in the beginning. Maybe this helps you out in the start
@@Westwood1989 maybe, but i have a hard time managing both base expansion, unit production and directing the troops. i'm better at focusing at one task at hand, not doing 3 or more things at once when i can only look at one place at a time.
I miss playing Generals/Zero Hour. :( My game CD is all worn out now. :( This is the only C&C game (G & G:ZH) that I love to play. I hope they release/remaster this. Sick Game play btw...that 1 vs 7 (mixed GLA, China & USA) was insane to the highest level. I was wondering when you'll create a particle cannon and airfield for air support, but looks like you don't need it. It's been more than a decade since I last played and my memory about the game play is a bit rusty, but why didn't you hide your snipers inside the humvee for added protection? Anyway, it's an awesome game and you played it insanely well.

thanks. I also see many players playing very slow because they dont use the right mouseclick scroll funktion. They would be much faster with that. Also hotkeys give such an advantage and they are very easy to learn

The easiest 1 vs 7. In this map always start with defending up section. Then left. And dont capture everything at first and dont let anyone else capture them too then increase your defense and move defenses forward. I remember i won this game with only moving my defences forward and not directly attacking.

RTS a dying breed? Greatly exaggerated. The *real* issue here is the ever-changing customer vs. developer mindset, really:

Developers want sophistication and taste in their products. I infer: sophistication + taste = substance = marketable idea = sellable product. Because that's how businesses work. Products need to be attractive to be competitve! And good formulas? *They're hard to find.*
The kicker in RTS development is the creative direction. Developers can tend to crutch on to this one basic idea:
_"you need a lot of micro/macro/build order foresight/critical decision thinking"_
Because, hey, your game *is* sophisticated, right? The only way to go is "up".

Customers. Now, they want something they can easily jump into. Consider that the working world now demands a lot of your personal time, (maybe even in the weekends!), how can you, as the common customer, possibly spare time to learn something new?
If you also have:
1. gaming A.D.D.
2. a choice: easier-to-learn, hard-to-master MOBA vs. the harder-to-learn, harder-to-master RTS.
Odds are you'll be inclined to take the MOBA, because AFAIK, it's usually *designed* to last up to 30mins per match, requires you to manage one character only, and hell, there's never a dull second throughout. Perfect *for the casual gamer* .
And RTS?

(albeit a small tinge of dissaproval about the "nayy lmao, it's gonna be, like, 5 hours long, screw it" part,as even now there are parents who tell their kids (up to age 17 even) that they cant play longer then an hour or two,so the prospect of not being able to finish a single thing in that time is really discouraging for many people,as spending a decent amount of time but not even completing something is something i think everyone would dislike,but thats just my opinion)
