A shelf type vertical freezer is also useful if available in India. You can also freeze idlis, bread (cut into slices), cake (cut into slices), extra meat (cooked or raw). Extra idli-dosa batter or even appam batter can be frozen. Green chillies, coriander and mint leaves can be frozen -- these can be used in curries.
