Ok guys, in the video we should have specified that the Crate doesn't release the Key if it falls down the pit! So you have to break it with a Spike Ball.

Just a question, wouldn’t you only need to break the crate at the end? So throw all the other crates down and then only use the last crate to get the key.

I tried making a level with a similar concept to the trampoline spiketraps, but apparently one jump was so hard that nobody could get past it and I deleted the level once it got to about 90 plays with zero clears lol

Here's one
How about a spike ball race
You race it by dodging obstacles as it goes on conveyers to speed it up or slow it down
And if it reaches the end it hits a on/off switch blocking the pipe or door
Or how about spike ball target practice?
You have spike throw spike balls at you and yoshi in the airship night theme and yoshi has to eat them and try to shoot them at the on/off switches while also blocking or dodging spikes other spike balls
It's tricky and difficult but a good idea
Really amazing ideas, even if a lot of them are tough. I find a lot of the ideas I come up with to be harder than I expect and I get frustrated when I try to make easier to clear stages ironically, so maybe it is easier to come up with harder challenges than easier ones...or maybe I'm just sadistic. Who knows. Either way, great vid.
It's easy to come up with ideas, but making them fair is certainly the hardest part.
Same, I made some levels for mm1 called "Castle doors" "Difficult castle" and "Traumatizing course" (sadly that got taken down) they were pretty sadistic, more sadistic was Traumatizing course.

The bullet time example inspired me to make a bullet time world filled with courses that require timing to make progress.
Okay, I had a crappy idea with these. If you use On Off Switches, you can make an endurance game where you press the switch to stop the Spike Balls from hitting P Switches. And if the do, you dead.
But yours is way better tbh

Several of these ideas would result in endless challenge skips. They're cool ideas but people losing lives get your level skipped quick.

t video. I've seen rooms created with a hole on the floor as if you'd normally die if you fall in. However, mario gets transported to some other part of the screen. Now, I know that the wind is what's moving Mario. My question is how is the room kept from scrolling to see the bottom of the level. Mario Maker requires a solid horizontal floor to prevent this. So how is it possible?
